CardzTV Go-to Galz Linky Party "Winter Wonderland"

Happy December! (Where did this year go?) Winter is just around the corner, can you believe it? Although I really don't want to see any snow any time too soon, that's what our challenge at CardzTV is all about…"Winter Wonderland!" Challenges last 2 weeks and Mary will give away a set of stamps to the winner.

I made a card:

Finished Card: 4 1/4" x 5 1/2"

Materials:

Cardstock: White, Green and Red
Dearie Dolls Digital Image "Let It Snow!"
Spectrum Noir Markers
CardzTV with Mary Clear Stamps Christmas Joy, "JOY"
Sizzix Embossing Folder "Snowflakes"
Gold Pigment Ink
Black Pigment Ink
Extra Fine Glitter
Mounting Tape

The falling snow and the snow on the ground is glittered. The base white card is embossed. The image is single mounted. The edges of the image have black pigment ink on them. The sentiment "JOY" is stamped with gold pigment ink, then colored in with markers.

Hope you like this card. I think it turned out cute.

CardzTV Linky Party Go To Galz "Fair Time"

Another great Challenge with the CardzTV Linky Party Go to Galz! It's called "Fair Time" (Any project that has to do with the fair). Challenges run for two weeks and Mary gives away a set of stamps (your choice) to the winner.

Here is my card:

Finished Card: 4 1/4" x 5 1/2"

CardzTV with Mary Clear Stamps "Love in a Jar" Jar and "Be My Valentine" (You're Still The ONE!)
Spectrum Noir Markers
Small Circle Punch
Glossy Accents
Queen and Company Pearls Grass Green
Mounting Tape

When I think of a fair, I think of a County Fair with competitions for Blue Ribbon preserves, pies and farm stock. I thought I would make a some good ole preserves...lol.

I stamped the jar, then colored it with markers. I applied Glossy Accents and let it dry. I punched the circle and stamped it with "ONE!". I tried to make it look like ribbon around the top, then added the tails. The jar is single mounted and so is the ribbon on the jar.

Thanks for stopping by. Don't forget to join the fun. Please leave a comment.

Here at CardzTV the challenge this week is "Toasted Marshmallow" (use a marshmallow). This is Challenge  #3 for the Linky Go-to Galz. At first I thought of something with campfires and smores, but then I found a cute image and had to use it.

Digi Haven Challenge "Flowers"

Flowers are the challenge at Digi Haven this week. Our sponsor is Floppy Latte and the winner will receive a $6.00 gift certificate. The challenge will last 2 weeks.

I made two cards with the same image:

Finished Cards: 4 1/4" x 5 1/2"

Materials:
Cardstock: (Top Card)White and Gold
(Bottom Card) White, Vellum and Patterned Paper
Floppy Latte Image Black Eyed Susan Floral
Spectrum Noir Markers
Inkadinkado Clear Stamps Expressions (Top)"You're Simply The Best" and (Bottom) "Thinking of You"
(Top) Queen and Co Rhinestones Sunflower Yellow, 1 Large and 2 Medium
(Bottom) Queen and Co Pearls Lavender, 3 Medium
( Top) Black Pigment
(Bottom) Purple Pigment

On the top card, I printed the image on white cardstock, framed it, added the sentiment and the rhinestones...typical way to make a card. On the bottom card, I printed the image on vellum and colored the back of the image. I added the patterned paper to a white card, folded over the vellum over the card, added the sentiment to the front of the vellum and pearls...just a different way to do it. I like the way both of the cards ended up. What do you think? I always like it how different the same image can turn out with just some different colors.

Thanks for dropping by and please leave a comment.

Happy Father's Day

Just a quick post. I wanted to share a card I made for my husband for Father's Day.

Finished Card: 4 1/4" x 5 1/2"

Materials:
Cardstock: White and Orange
Bugaboo Stamps Construction Worker
Spectrum Noir Markers
CardzTV with Mary Clear Stamps Happy Days "Happy Father's Day" (inside)
Cuttlebug Embossing Folder Diamond Plate
Mounting Tape

The background is embossed with Diamond Plate folder, although it's hard to see. I cut the hammer a second time and single mounted it. I stamped the inside with "Happy Father's Day".

My husband is actually an aircraft technician, but this is the closest I could find. He does do a lot of work around the house also, so I think this will work.

Thanks for stopping by. Leave a comment.

Happy Father's Day!

CardzTV Stamp Challenge "Love In A Jar"

Welcome to another CardzTV Stamp Challenge. This week we are featuring a new stamp set called "Love In A Jar". The challenge will last 2 weeks and Mary will be giving away a set of stamps to the winner...their choice. Bet you have a hard time choosing!

For some inspiration, I made a birthday card:

Now who couldn't use another birthday card?

Finished Card: 4 1/4" x 5 1/2"

Materials:
Cardstock: White, Red, Yellow, Green, Blue, Brown, Patterned Paper and Clear Plastic
CardzTV with Mary Clear Stamps Love In A Jar, Small Jar and "...For You"
CardzTV with Mary Clear Stamps Good Times, "Happy Birthday"
Michelle Perkett Studio Digital Image Peppermint Lollipop Stamp
Spectrum Noir Markers
Quickutz Embossing Folder Lines and Dots
Small Circle Punch
White Marker (Each Small Circle is marked with a "M")
Mounting Tape
Black Pigment Ink

I stamped the small jar 3 times, once on clear plastic and twice on white card stock. Next, I fussy cut them all out and colored the jar lids on the white card stock. Next I layered the white small jar, the colored circles (M&M's), the clear small jar (with some mounting tape), just the lid from the second white jar (I cut the lid off the second white card stock jar) and finally the "For You" label. The lollipop was cut out from my Silhouette Cameo and then colored with Spectrum Noir Markers. It is hard to see but the yellow background square is embossed with the "Lines and Dots" embossing folder.

Hope you liked my card...please check out the other designers projects as well as all of Mary's stamp sets (click here).

Teacher's Cards (Thank you Miss Nicole and Miss Karen)

My son asked me to make two cards for Gianna's two teachers. She will be moving up to the next preschool class next week and he wanted to say "Thank you".

I made the same card but with different background paper.
What do you think?

Finished Cards: 4 1/2" x 5 1/2"

Materials:
Cardstock: White and Patterned Paper
Melonheadz Illustrations Sending Love and Prayers...
Spectrum Noir Markers

The only thing I changed was the bottom part of the heart...I cut out another one and covered up the "Oklahoma".

Gianna really likes her teacher's, Miss Nicole and Miss Karen, and they really seem to like her also. I'm sure it will be an adjustment to go to the other class, but she will be fine. From what I understand, several of her classmates will be moving up with her. That may make it a little easier.

Thanks for dropping by.
Please leave a comment. I do like reading what you think.

Digi Haven Challenge Butterflies

It's challenge time at Digi Haven. This week is Butterflies. Floppy Lattes Digital Designs is our sponsor. They have a $6.00 gift card for the winner.

Here is the card I made (I tried something different):

I printed the image twice...once on vellum and once on white cardstock...I colored the vellum on the back side of the image and the white cardstock image:

 Finished Card: 4 14" x 5 1/2"

Materials:
Cardstock: White and Vellum
Floppy Lattes Digital Designs Butterfly Dreams 4 Pack
Spectrum Noir Markers
CardzTV with Mary Clear Stamps Simply Said "Just For You"

It's pretty clean and simple but I think it came out nice. Now if you do try this, remember that the markers bleed though on the white cardstock...so you will need to put a blank piece of cardstock on the back to cover it. (I didn't think about that beforehand). I stamped the sentiment on the front side of the vellum.

Glad you stopped by and thanks. Please leave me a comment or two.

Happy Memorial Day on Monday also. Have a safe holiday!

Thinking of You Card

I am fairly new with using the Silhouette Cameo. My husband gave it to me for Christmas, but I was intimidated and left it in the box for months and I do mean months! Finally, I put my big girl pants on and gave it a try....and I LOVE IT! Boy I wish I had opened it earlier. lol There is a blog called Cameo Creations Challenge where all the challenges use the Silhouette machines...either the original SD or the Cameo. I thought I would give it a try. The May Challenge is Mother's Day..."create anything for the mommies you love".

This is my card:

Finished Card: 4 1/4" x 5 1/2"

Materials:
Cardstock: White, Maroon, Gold and Light Blue
Silhouette Cameo
Bugaboo Stamps Cute Bee Flower
Spectrum Noir Markers
Darice Embossing Essentials Honeycomb Background
Inkadinkado Clear Stamps Expressions "Thinking of You"
Black Pigment Ink
Mounting Tape

The bee/flower is single mounted on the honeycomb background.

Now you may think that the sentiment is a little strange for a Mother's Day challenge, however I think it is very appropriate. I lost my mother over 21 years ago (22 in July) and there isn't a day still that I don't think about her. I miss her very much.

I hope you like my "Cameo Creation". Thanks for dropping by and please leave a comment.

CardzTV Stamps "You've Got Mail" Blog Hop Day 1

Hi Everyone. Welcome to CardzTV "You've Got Mail" Blog Hop. If you have come from Susan, then you are in the right place. If you just happen to stop by and would like to start at the beginning, please click here. This hop is all about Mary's new stamp set "Snail Mail". Mary is also giving away TWO sets of stamps to the winner. That is just so generous and believe me, you will have a hard time making a choice...all the stamp sets are wonderful!!!

Here is my card:

Finished Card: 4 1/4" x 5 1/2"

Materials:
Cardstock: White, Green and Blue
Elizabeth Dulemba Coloring Pages Digital Image 2013 New Year's Stork
CardzTV with Mary Clear Stamps Snail Mail, "Special Delivery"
Spectrum Noir Markers
Silhouette Cameo
Cricut Cartridge Elegant Edges Stamp page 37, Shadow Shift
Cricut Design Studio
Darice Embossing Essentials Cloudy Day
Mounting Tape

I hope you can see the embossed clouds in the blue background. The stork is also double mounted. I was thinking of putting the stork on an Action wobble, however, it didn't fit. I think it would have given a neat effect though...lol.

I feel like I used all my craft machines on this card...lol...the Cameo for cutting out the stork image, the Cricut for cutting the blue stamp image and the Big Kick for embossing the clouds.

Thank you dropping by.

Don't forget to stop in at CardzTV tomorrow for Day 2 of the Blog Hop and see what terrific projects the designers have come up with for Day 2.

Digi Haven Challenge "Mother's Day or Floral"

This week at Digi Haven is a Mother's Day or Floral Challenge. Our terrific sponsor is My Grafico. All the designers had a chance to use one of their images from the Fancy Flowers Set.

Here is my card:

Finished Card: 4 1/4" x 5 1/2"

Materials:
Cardstock: White, Lime and Patterned Paper
My Grafico Fancy Flowers Digital Stamps
Spectrum Noir Markers
CardzTV with Mary Clear Stamps Happy Days, "Happy Mother's Day!"
Clear Rhinestones, 4 Small
Black Pigment Ink
Mounting Tape

I fussy cut the image out after I colored it, then single mounted it on the card. The picture doesn't do the dimension any justice.  I thought about using Glossy Accents on the mason jar image, but then decided that I liked it without the gloss...maybe on another card.

I, personally, lost my mother quite a few years ago...22 this July, to be exact. There isn't a day that goes by that I don't miss her still. Fortunately, my husband still has his mother. So we could send this to her for Mother's Day. I think she might like this.

Now don't forget to join us in this challenge. You might win a stamp set from our sponsor, My Grafico. Challenge lasts 2 weeks.

Thanks for stopping by. Please leave a comment and let me know what you think.

Happy Mother's Day!

Digi Haven Challenge "Use Buttons"

Buttons, buttons, who's got the button? We do at Dig Haven this week. That's the challenge...to use buttons. We have another wonderful sponsor this week also...Dilly Beans. They will be giving the winner of the challenge 3 images...I just think that is so generous. Isn't it? Now the challenge will only last 2 weeks, so make sure you join us for the fun.

I actually made 2 different cards using the same image:

Here they are close up:

Finished Cards: 4/14" x 5 1/2"

Materials:
Cardstock: White, Light Teal, Light Wine and 2 Different Patterned Papers
Dilly Beans Stamp 364 Crinkles Hearts Framed
Spectrum Noir Markers
White Crochet Thread
Various Buttons
Mounting Tape

I thought this little guy was so cute. (Don't you think so too?) The cards can be used for a variety of reasons...birthday, thank you, congratulations, thinking of you...whatever. I like how different each card is even though it has the same image. (Both framed images are single mounted...in case you can't tell in the photo).

Well, get busy and play a long. We would love to see what you come up with...using buttons. And if you get a chance, stop by our sponsor and check out all the other great images there are...click here.

Thanks for dropping by and please leave a comment. I love reading them.

Digi Haven Challenge "Spring"

Spring is here...well, at least according to the calendar...

This is what mother nature had in mind for us on Monday:

(my poor flowers)

But here at Digi Haven, it's Spring! That is the challenge this week...Spring. Our sponsor is My Grafico and the design team all used bits from the Happy Bugs Stamps Set. The challenge will last for 2 weeks and the winner will receive 1 stamp set from our sponsor. So nice, huh?

Here is my project:

Finished Card: 4 1/4" x 5 1/2"

Materials:
Cardstock: White, Lavender, and Mint
My Grafico Happy Bugs Stamp Set, Ant
Spectrum Noir Markers
CardzTV with Mary Clear Stamps Think Spring, "Think Spring!"
Lavender Pigment Ink
Cuttlebug Embossing Folder Floral Fantasy
Floral Ribbon
Queen and Co Pearls, Brilliant Blue 2 Small; Grass Green 2 Small; Nightfall 2 Small and Orchid 2 Small
Mounting Tape

These little guys are so cute...however, in real life, I absolutely hate ants (when they are in my house! How about you? Can you tell that I have had a problem with them?) Now it's hard to tell, but the ant image is single mounted.

Glad you stopped by. Don't forget to check out the other designer's creations...they are always so awesome! Join in and maybe you'll win a new stamp set.

Leave me a comment please. (I love to read them).

Have a great day!

Hope you decide to join the challenge. Good luck. Please leave a comment.

Digi Haven Challenge Snow or Snowflakes

This week at Digi Haven the Challenge is Snow or Snowflakes. The sentiments that the design team used this week are from our own Design Team Member, Mynnette. In addition, Mynnette has graciously agreed to give the winner 3 images. Di Digi's is also giving the winner a $10 Gift Certificate. Challenge will last for 2 weeks.

Here is my card:

Finished Card: 5" x 5"

Materials:
Cardstock: White, Black and Patterned Paper
Dearie Dolls Digital Image "Twigs Snowman Color"
Spectrum Noir Markers
On A Stampage Mynnette's Sentiment "I Think You're Cool!"
Handmade Baker's Twine
Spellbinders Shapeabilities Floral Doily Motifs (Largest and 3rd Largest)
Queen and Co Pearls Pearl, 2 Large, 2 Medium and 2 Small
Extra Fine Glitter
Mounting Tape

For the first time ever, I used an already colored version of an image from Dearie Dolls. I added some shadow and glitter. I thought the Spellbinders shapes looked like snowflakes. In the middle of the sentiment "Cool", I added 2 small pearls, as well as the large pearl on the twine and the ones in the corner. As you can see, the background has a glitter shimmer. I like the way it turned out. what do you think?

Hope you decide to join in the fun. Don't forget to check out all the other designer's projects.

I have something else that I would like to share with you...
For the past month, my husband and I have been working on a home improvement project....well, let me start at the beginning...
Before Christmas, I bought some toilet bowl cleaner. It unfortunately got spilled on my hall carpet and this is what happened:

Yes, it ATE my carpet!

So, after Christmas we decided to fix the problem. We tore up the carpet on the stairs:

Then I got sick...103 fever, strep and flu! After feeling better, we cut, stained and polyurethaned the steps:

Next we added the trim:

We finally finished the steps:

 and from above:

Then we tore up the carpet in the hall, but I got sick AGAIN...103 fever and flu! (woo hoo)

Finally, we were able to start:

And we finally finished yesterday, trim and all. Here is the finished project:

and from the other side:

We also replaced the hall light. It only took about a month. There is one more thing we would like to do...replace all the doors. Soon, but not today! lol  I want to take the time to thank my husband and my sons (they helped too). I really like the way it turned out.

Thanks for stopping by.
Please leave a comment. I always love reading them.
