CardzTV Linky Party Go To Galz "Fair Time"

Another great Challenge with the CardzTV Linky Party Go to Galz! It's called "Fair Time" (Any project that has to do with the fair). Challenges run for two weeks and Mary gives away a set of stamps (your choice) to the winner.

Here is my card:

Finished Card: 4 1/4" x 5 1/2"

Materials:
Cardstock: White, Blue and Patterned Paper
CardzTV with Mary Clear Stamps "Love in a Jar" Jar and "Be My Valentine" (You're Still The ONE!)
Spectrum Noir Markers
Small Circle Punch
Glossy Accents
Queen and Company Pearls Grass Green
Mounting Tape

When I think of a fair, I think of a County Fair with competitions for Blue Ribbon preserves, pies and farm stock. I thought I would make a some good ole preserves...lol.

I stamped the jar, then colored it with markers. I applied Glossy Accents and let it dry. I punched the circle and stamped it with "ONE!". I tried to make it look like ribbon around the top, then added the tails. The jar is single mounted and so is the ribbon on the jar.

Thanks for stopping by. Don't forget to join the fun. Please leave a comment.

CardzTV Stamps Challenge "Kidz Kardz"

We are having some fun with something a little different this week at CardzTV Stamps. The challenge is called "Kidz Kardz". Make a a set of 3 - 3" x 3" Valentines for kids.

Well, I got carried away (what else is new), so I made 3 sets of 3:

The back of each one has the sentiment, "Be My Valentine!":

Actually, I made them into pockets to hold a candy treat:

Finished Pockets: 3" x 3"

Materials:
Cardstock: White, Pink, Purple, Yellow, Black, Red, Green, Tan, Brown, Cream, Blue and Patterned Paper
Cricut Cartridge Create A Critter Frog, page 24; Rabbit, page 26; Squirrel, page 32; Cat 2, page 38; Crab, page 40; Bird 2, page 45; Monkey, page 46; Skunk, page 61 and Bee, page 68 (Various Base, Layer 1, Layer 2, Layer 3, Shift Base, Shift Layer 1and/or Shift Layer 2)
CardzTV with Mary Clear Stamps Be My Valentine, "Be My Valentine!"
Various Embossing Folders: Cuttlebug Heart Block and D'Vine Swirls; Sizzix Scrollmark and Darice Heart
Small Heart Punch
Mounting Tape

I made them fairly simple since I plan on giving them to Gianna's (my 3 1/2 year old granddaughter) preschool class for Valentine's Day. I didn't want any embellishments falling off for tiny hands. I think they turned out cute. (I ended up making another 5 so each of Gianna's classmates and teacher would get one...lol)

Hope you decide to play. Mary will be giving one of her stamp sets away to the winner. Challenge ends the 21st. Good luck.

Thanks for stopping by. Please leave a comment. I love reading your thoughts.

CardzTV Stamps Design Team "I {Heart} U" Blog Hop (Feb 11th and 12th)

I know it's a few days away yet, but Happy Valentine's Day!

However right now, it's Blog Hop time here with the CardzTV Stamps Design Team...woo hoo! It's called "I {Heart} U" (Make a Valentine's Day Project). You should have come from Little Scrap Pieces with Karen; if so, then you are in the right place. If you just happen to stop by, thank you, but you might want to start at the beginning of the hop so you don't miss any of the great projects (and maybe some blog candy) from the other designers.

Every year I give something to my family for Valentine's Day. This year, I made a box to hold a Valentine's treat (M & M's) and a matching card. Well, actually I made 6 of them (lol). I do want to tell you first that I designed the box myself with Design Studio and George and Basic Shapes. I am so proud of that!

Here are all 6 of projects together:

In sets of 3:

A close-up of just one of them:

And with the card opened:

Finished Boxes: 2 1/4" x 2 1/4" x 4 1/2" (not including the tulle bow)

Materials:
Cardstock: Pink (for the one box) and 5 Different Double-sided Patterned Cardstock (for the other 5 boxes)
Cricut Cartridge George and Basic Shapes
Cricut Cartridge Tags, Bags, Boxes and More Heart, page 108 (Blackout)
Cricut Design Studio
CardzTV with Mary Clear Stamps Be My Valentine, (Heart) and "Be My Valentine"
Marking Memories Scrapbook Embellishment Storage Jars
Martha Stewart Edger Doily Lace Punch
Clear Plastic (for window in box)
Mounting Tape
Red Tulle
Red, Pink and White Curling Ribbon
White Elastic (to tie the card onto the box)
Red and Black Pigment Ink
M & M's

First, I put the candy in the jars:

Then I designed a box on Design Studio so that the jars would fit just right:

After scoring and folding, I cut a piece of clear plastic to fit over the window and glued it in place. I glued the box together, only gluing the long side (the top and bottom are not glued):

Next, I put the jar in the box. This is the pink box that I stamped with CardzTV heart stamp:

I made a card for each box using matching paper. The cards are cut 2 1/4" x 4". Fold in half, then punch the one side with the doily lace edger punch. The hearts are from TBBM and cut at 1 1/2" and 1 3/4" (I think. It could be 1 1/4" and 1 1/2" I don't remember the exact measurements for them...sorry). There is no shadow feature, so that's why I cut the white hearts 1/4" bigger. Glue the hearts together, then I used mounting tape to adhere them to the front of the card. This way they pop up a little and give some dimension. (it may be hard to see that in the photos). I then stamped "Be My Valentine" on the inside of the cards.

Finally, I wrapped red tulle around the box and tied a bow. I cut 3 pieces of curling ribbon (one each color) and tied that around the tulle bow and curled. I tied a loop of elastic on the card and then looped it around the tulle bow also:

Ok so now it's time for the Blog Candy (Yippeee!)

This is what I am giving away: A Clear Stamping Block, Four Sets of Clear Stamps (Valentine's Day, St Patty's Day, Easter and Spring), A Pack of Rhinestones, A Pack of Pearls and A Couple of Pages of Stickers (Valentine's and St Patty's).

In order to win my blog candy, you need to 1. Be a follower, 2. Leave a comment on THIS post and 3. Leave me a way to contact you (just in case you win)...I will pick a winner on Monday, Feb 13th...Good Luck.

Valentine Card

I wanted to share a card that my two year old granddaughter and I made for her Daddy.

And the inside:

Finished Card: 4 1/4" x 5 1/2"

Materials:
Cardstock: White, Red and Patterned Paper
CardzTV with Mary Clear Stamps Be My Valentine, "Happy Valentine's Day!" and Ticket Talk, "I Love You!"
Nicole Valentine Stickers
Red Pigment Ink
Mounting Tape

Gianna (my granddaughter) picked out all the stickers and stuck them where she wanted on the card. I think it turned out really cute, (but I may be a little biased). What do you think?

Thanks.
