CardzTV Go-to Galz Linky Party "Happy Halloween!"

It's almost Halloween, can you believe it? That's what we are celebrating this week at CardzTV. Our challenge is called (surprise, surprise) "Happy Halloween! (Create a card, layout or 3D project using only black, orange and /or purple).

This is what I came up with:

Approximate size: 4 3/4' x 4 3/4" x 1 1/2"

Materials:
Cardstock: Black and Orange
Silhouette 3D Witches Boot
Sizzix Tag, Crescent Combo (Smallest Tag)
CardzTV with Mary Clear Stamps Happy Days "Happy Halloween!"
Thin Purple Ribbon
Purple Brad

I will be honest with you, I had a hard time putting this together. It took me quite awhile, a few attempts and I'm not 100% happy with it. However.....what are you going to do...I stressed over it way too long! A helpful hint is to lace the boot front tongue before you put it together. (Do you think I tried it the other way first?) lol I used a large eye needle with the ribbon because the holes are very small to go through.
I filled it with an Autumn Mix of candy corn.

Don't forget to check out the other designers and their projects. Mary gives away a stamp set to the winner (their choice). Challenge will last 2 weeks.

Hope you all have a frightfully great Halloween.

Thanks for stopping by. Please leave a comment or the witch in me may just cast a spell on you!

Happy Father's Day

Just a quick post. I wanted to share a card I made for my husband for Father's Day.

Finished Card: 4 1/4" x 5 1/2"

Materials:
Cardstock: White and Orange
Bugaboo Stamps Construction Worker
Spectrum Noir Markers
CardzTV with Mary Clear Stamps Happy Days "Happy Father's Day" (inside)
Cuttlebug Embossing Folder Diamond Plate
Mounting Tape

The background is embossed with Diamond Plate folder, although it's hard to see. I cut the hammer a second time and single mounted it. I stamped the inside with "Happy Father's Day".

My husband is actually an aircraft technician, but this is the closest I could find. He does do a lot of work around the house also, so I think this will work.

Thanks for stopping by. Leave a comment.

Digi Haven Challenge "Mother's Day or Floral"

This week at Digi Haven is a Mother's Day or Floral Challenge. Our terrific sponsor is My Grafico. All the designers had a chance to use one of their images from the Fancy Flowers Set.

Here is my card:

Finished Card: 4 1/4" x 5 1/2"

Materials:
Cardstock: White, Lime and Patterned Paper
My Grafico Fancy Flowers Digital Stamps
Spectrum Noir Markers
CardzTV with Mary Clear Stamps Happy Days, "Happy Mother's Day!"
Clear Rhinestones, 4 Small
Black Pigment Ink
Mounting Tape

I fussy cut the image out after I colored it, then single mounted it on the card. The picture doesn't do the dimension any justice.  I thought about using Glossy Accents on the mason jar image, but then decided that I liked it without the gloss...maybe on another card.

I, personally, lost my mother quite a few years ago...22 this July, to be exact. There isn't a day that goes by that I don't miss her still. Fortunately, my husband still has his mother. So we could send this to her for Mother's Day. I think she might like this.

Now don't forget to join us in this challenge. You might win a stamp set from our sponsor, My Grafico. Challenge lasts 2 weeks.

Thanks for stopping by. Please leave a comment and let me know what you think.

CardzTV Stamps Challenge "There's No Other Like My Mother"

Mother's Day is just around the corner and here at CardzTV we have a challenge called "There's No Other Like My Mother" (Make a card, layout or project for Mother's Day). Now isn't that fun? Challenge will run for 2 weeks and Mary is giving away one of her stamp sets to the winner.

Here is my project:

Finished Project: 2 3/16" x 4 1/2"

Materials:
Cardstock: Two Shades of Green, Tan, Pink and Patterned Paper
CardzTV with Mary Clear Stamps Happy Days, "Happy Mother's Day!"; Heart to Heart, "I Love You  (With All My Heart!)" and Simply Said, "Have a Great Day!"
Silhouette Cameo Font "Mom"
Cricut Cartridge George and Basic Shapes Ovals
Cricut Cartridge Tags, Bags, Boxes and More, Tag
Cricut Design Studio
Cuttlebug Embossing Folder Swiss Dots
Darice Embossing Essentials Corner Scroll
Darice Embossing Essentials Heart
Metal Ring
Assorted Ribbon
Black Pigment Ink
Toilet Paper Rolls
Eyelets

This is a fun project that you could add a gift card to for your Mom (just tuck it in the back of the last tag).

I would like to thank Mary also because this project is based on an old project that she had made a while ago.

Flatten the toilet paper rolls. Cut to different sizes (3", 3 1/2" and 4"). Wrap each one with patterned paper. Cut out tags and emboss. Cut ovals and stamp. Add stamped ovals to embossed tags, then add ribbon. Cut out "Mom" and adhere to front of first holder. Make hole in corner and add eyelet. Repeat with each holder. Add metal ring and put tags in.

Hope you enjoy the project.

Thanks for stopping by and please leave me a comment.

Happy St Patrick's Day!

Just wanted to wish everyone a 'Happy St Patrick's Day!"I started to make this card for a challenge a couple weeks ago but never finished it in time, so I I decided to share it with you now....

Finished Card: 4 1/4" x 5 1/2"

Materials:
Cardstock: White, Green and Patterned
Cricuit Cartridge Paper Doll Dress Up Leprechaun, page 40 (Accessories 3 Shift)
CardzTV with Mary Clear Stamps Happy Days, "Happy St. Patrick's Day!"
Cuttlebug Embossing Folder Lucky Shamrocks
Queen and Co Pearls Grass Green 3 Medium
Green Marker
Black Pigment Ink
Mounting Tape

The shamrock is single mounted. I really like the embossing in the background. I hope you like it.

We are having our traditional St Patrick's Day dinner tonight...corned beef, cabbage and potatoes...yum. And after dinner we will have an Irish Coffee. I made truffles for dessert.

The ones with the squiggle lines are milk chocolate and the ones with the shamrocks are dark chocolate. (They are actually made with chopped Oreo mint cookies and cream cheese that are rolled into a ball and dipped in chocolate). I am also going to make some peanut butter cookies with a Claddagh imprint. Hope they turn out.

Better get going...oh, and I am going to enter this into a challenge...Cupcake Inspirations. This is the inspiration:

Thanks for stopping by...Happy St Patrick's Day! May you always be blessed!

CardzTV Stamps Challenge #25 "Luck Of The Irish!"

This week at CardzTV Stamps the Challenge is "Luck of the Irish". Use stamped, digital or electronically cut shamrocks or leprechauns on your project. The challenge will run 2 weeks and Mary at CardzTV will be giving away a set of her stamps to the winner.

Here is my card:

Finished Card: 4 1/4" x 5 1/2"

Materials:
Cardstock: White, 3 Shades of Green, Black, 2 Shades of Brown, Tan, Yellow and Patterned Paper
Cricut Cartridge Paper Doll Dress Up Body, page 29 (Base); Leprechaun, page 40 (Base, Shift, Headwear 1 Base, Headwear 1 Shift, Accessories 1 Base, Accessories 1 Shift, Accessories 2 Base, Accessories 2 Shift, Accessories 3 Base and Accessories 3 Shift)
CardzTV with Mary Clear Stamps Happy Days, " Happy St. Patrick's Day!"
Martha Stewart Tinsel Glitter, Florentine Gold
Nicole Ultra Fine Glitter Extra Fine Iridescent Gold
Pink Chalk
Mounting Tape

The tinsel glitter is in the pot. Boy, doesn't it shine? I thought this turned out cute. I don't use the Paper Dolls very often, but I really think I should. They always turn out so nice.

Do you celebrate St Patrick's Day? We do around here. Every year I always make corned beef and cabbage with boiled potatoes, (sometimes I make ham and string beans too, depending on how many people are coming over). We also have an Irish coffee after dinner! This dinner is a something that my mom started when I was a kid...and I kept the tradition going. Always brings a little of my Mom back to me.

Hope you like my project. Don't forget to check the other designer's projects and that Mary is giving away a set of stamps to the winner. Good luck.

Thanks for stopping by. Please leave a comment. I love to read them.

"Say I DO" CardzTV Stamps Challenge #9

The CardzTV Challenge is "Say I DO". Create a card, favor or craft project for an engagement, wedding shower or wedding. The challenge runs from May 25th, 26th and 27th. Mary at CardzTV is giving away a stamp set to the winner (your choice).

I made two cards. Here is the first:

It actually holds your gift (money or a gift card):

Finished Card: 4 1/4" x 5 1/2"

Materials:
Cardstock: White
Melonheadz Illustrating Digital Images
Spectrum Noir Markers
CardzTV with Mary Clear Stamps Happy Days ("Happy Wedding Day!") and Encouraging Thoughts "Love"
StazOn Jet Black Ink
Martha Stewart Punch Around the Page Cherry Blossom
Cuttlebug Companion Embossing Folders Simply Charmed
Spellbinders Nestabilities Labels Twenty-Three, Smallest
Ultra Fine Premium Glitter Extra Fine Multi Diamond Dust
Queen and Co Pearls Pearl, 6 Large
Queen and Company Rhinestones Snowflake, 3 Small
Thin White Ribbon
Two Eyelets
Mounting Tape

It's a gate-fold card turned on it's side. I embossed each side. I used the Cherry Blossoms corner punch on the inside corners but only on the one side. I put an eyelet through one of the flower middles to form a pouch for the money or gift card gift then tied ribbon through the holes. On a separate piece of card stock,  I punched around the page and added glitter to the outside flowers. I colored the image, cut around the image leaving a small border, then added glitter to the bottom of the dress and the veil. The sentiment is also embossed as well as cut from the Labels Twenty-Three Die (although you cannot see it in the photo). The flower piece, the image and the sentiment are all single mounted. Finally, I added the pearls and the rhinestones.

This is my second card:

Finished Card: 4 1/4" x 5 1/2"

Materials:
Cardstock: White
Beary Wishes Digital Image
Spectrum Noir Markers
CardzTV with Mary Clear Stamps Happy Days, "(Happy) Wedding Day" and Make a Wish "(Birthday) Blessings"
Cuttlebug Embossing Folder Swiss Dots
Cuttlebug Companion Embossing Folders Simply Charmed
EK Success Corner Rounder
Martha Stewart Punch Around the Page String Lace
EK Success Scallop Circle
Queen and Co Pearls Pearl, 2 Large, 2 Medium and 1 Small
Mounting Tape

The String Lace layer, the image and the sentiment are all single mounted. I used part of 2 different stamps to make my sentiment. (I only used the "Wedding Day" and "Blessings").

I hope that you like my cards. Hopefully, I have inspired you to take the challenge and make something of your own and enter it over at CardzTV.  Good luck and have fun!

Day 2 CardzTV "MOM's the Word" Blog Hop

It's the second day for the CardzTV blog hop and I made a card for today. This is the first time I have ever made a wiper card, but I thought it was pretty neat.

Finished Card: 4 1/4" x 5 1/2"

Materials:
Cardstock: White, and Patterned Pink Paper
Birds Cards Digital Image
Spectrum Noir Markers
CardzTV with Mary Clear Stamps Happy Days "Happy Mother's Day!"
StazOn Jet Black Ink
Nicole Ultra Fine Premium Glitter Extra Fine Multi Diamond Dust
Queen and Co Pearls, Pearl 4 Medium
Pink Ribbon
Mounting Tape

I really like how the card opens up and the "wiper" pops up. I single mounted the sentiment and I left the side empty so I would have a place to write a personal message. I now have all these ideas about other cards I want to make with this type of card...lol...we'll see how it goes. (I always have more ideas than time to do them...anyone else like that?)

If you want to see my Day 1 project (3-D Teacups with a candle holder and a candle) and BLOG CANDY, please scroll down (or click here). To start at the beginning of the Blog Hop, click here. Don't forget, Mary at CardzTV is giving away 2 of her stamps sets for blog candy...I would check it out!

Thanks for stopping by...leave a comment. (For a chance at the Blog Candy, you must leave a comment on YESTERDAY'S post! Good luck!)

I am also entering this into My Craft Spot challenge...Mother's Day.

CardzTV Design Team Blog Hop May 5th and 6th "MOM's the Word"

Welcome! We're having a Blog Hop at CardzTV. The theme is "MOM's the Word" (Create a card, craft or gift for Mother's Day). Now if you have come from Theresa The Scrapbooking Queen, you are in the right place; however, if you just happen to stop by and would like to start at the beginning, click here to start at CardzTV.

For the past few years, my sister-in-law has invited me to her house for Mother's Day, as well as her sister, husband's sister, daughter-in-law and her two granddaughters. We all usually bring a small gift for the other ladies. This is my gift to them this year:

Inside the tissue paper is a candle and candle holder:

This is the teacups without the candles inside:

Finished Teacup: approximately 4 1/4" across x 2 1/2" high

Materials (for each teacup):
Cardstock: Double-sided Patterned and White
Cricut Cartridge Tags, Bags, Boxes & More 2 Teacup, page 29 (Base, cut at 10")
CardzTV with Mary Clear Stamps Happy Days "Happy Mother's Day!"
StazOn Jet Black Ink
Lace
Aunt Lydia's Crochet Thread
Crinkle Paper
Candle and Candle Holder
Tissue Paper
Ribbon

I hope you can see that the tags are suppose to look like a the end of a teabag. I used hot glue to put the teacups together (to make it stronger) and I adhered the saucers to the bottom of the cups. The lace is to make it look a little more feminine. Each cup has a different scented candle. Don't you think the ladies will like them?

Now who doesn't like Blog Candy? Well first, Mary at CardzTV is giving away 2 sets of stamps (winner's choice). Don't forget to check it out.

I have Blog Candy too...Woo Hoo! I am giving away a 6" x 6" A Mind's Eye Paper Pad "Meadowlark", Ink IT Up! Black Pigment Ink Pad and a set of ten Inkadinkado Clear Stamps "Friendly Characters".

In order to win, please leave a comment on this post by 11:59 pm EST May 6th. ALSO, you MUST be a follower and leave me a way to contact you (in case you are the winner). I will pick a winner on Monday, May 7th.

Your next stop is Kate at Scrappers Creative Corner.

Here is the entire line-up (in case you get lost):

Pinwheels

I was looking through the new posts today and I was totally inspired by the Pinwheel card at BugBites. I had to give it a try.

I then decided to make another one BUT THIS ONE SPINS.......

So COOL...(I know it's hard to tell in pictures....if you look at the pink squares, you can see they are in different positions).

Finished Cards: 4 1/4" x 5 1/2"

Materials for Both Cards:
Cardstock: White and Scraps of Patterned Paper
StazOn Jet Black Ink
Button
Mounting Tape

Additional Materials for First Card:
CardzTV with Mary Clear Stamps Encouraging Thoughts "Smile!"
Homemade "Bakers Twine" with Aunt Lydia's Crochet Thread and Spectrum Noir Markers

Additional Materials for Second Card:
Martha Stewart Punch All Over the Page Scallop Square
CardzTV with Mary Clear Stamps Happy Days "Happy Birthday!"
Two Small Washers
Small Eyelet
Brad
Ribbon

To see a tutorial on how to make a basic pinwheel card and the dimensions, Click Here (OWH Stars and Stripes). For the second card, I had to adjust the size of the larger squares to 3 1/4", since the scallop squares cut larger than the original ones by 1/4" each.

In order to allow it to spin, I put an eyelet in the center of the pinwheel. Next, I placed one washer on a brad, pushed the brad through the eyelet, placed the other washer on, then bent the ends of the brad to secure (make sure it's not too tight, or it won't spin). I single mounted the pinwheel on the card (only where the brad attaches). Finally, I glued the button to the top of the brad to finish it off.

The "stick" on the first card is a scrap of card stock that is single mounted like the pinwheel. The "stick" on the second card is ribbon. I threaded the "Twine" through the button and tied a bow on the first card.

Hopefully, this wasn't too confusing. LOL. It's really a very simple card that is fun and fast to make AND the possibilities are endless with ALL the scraps of papers that we all have. I hope I inspired you to try this as much as BugBites inspired me!

I'm going to enter the second card into the Celebrate the Occasion challenge (Birthday Card with Ribbon).
