CardzTV Stamps Challenge "Mix It Up"

Hi everyone. I hope you all had a wonderful Easter/Passover. We had a very nice day. The weather did not cooperate in the afternoon, so we couldn't have our afternoon egg hunt. My cousins were disappointed. Hopefully next year. However, the Easter bunny did hide some eggs in the morning for Gianna:

and he even left footprints in my house when he hid Gianna's basket:

Here she is all dressed up with her basket (and (Cobi):

Ok, ok...to the reason we are here...the CardzTV Challenge:

This week is called  "Mix It Up"...use 3 different patterned papers in your project. Here  is my card:

Finished Card: 4 1/4" x 5 1/2"

Materials:
Cardstock: White, Yellow, Light Purple, Mauve and 3 Patterned Papers
Sizzix Present and Confetti Dies
CardzTV with Mary Clear Stamps Make a Wish, "Make a Wish!"
Black Pigment Ink
Mounting Tape

Cute birthday card for someone...don't you think?

Now hopefully you will check out the other designers projects and then join in the challenge. Don't forget, Mary always gives away one of her stamp sets to the winner. Boy, you can't beat that!

Thanks for stopping by. Please leave a comment.

Have a great weekend.

CardzTV DT Challenge #13: Color Challenge

If you are looking for the Digi Haven Challenge: click here.

This is CardzTV with Mary Clear Stamps Challenge and this time, we have a color challenge. Aren't they so much fun...and a lot of freedom. The challenge runs from the 17th until the 23rd and the winner will receive one of Mary's CardzTV stamp sets. Here are the colors: Marigold Yellow, Royal Blue, Rich Purple and Gray (you may use small amounts of Black and White also).

I have a birthday coming up, so I made myself a card. (Can you tell how I am feeling about it?)

Finished Card: 4 1/4" x 5 1/2"

Materials:
Cardstock: White, Black, Marigold Yellow, Royal Blue and Patterned Paper
Cricut Cartridge Over The Hill Cake, page 15 (Buttons 21 and 31)
CardzTV with Mary Clear Stamps Make a Wish, "Over the Hill"
Cuttlebug Embossing Folder D'Vine Swirls
Cuttlebug Embossing Folder Spiderweb
Martha Stewart Edge Punch Drippy Goo
Clear Glitter
Inkssentials Glossy Accents
White, Purple and Gray Pigment Ink
Studio G Mini Spider Punch
Mounting Tape

Not my usual style card...

I used purple pigment ink on the candelabra and gray on the stand. I thought the candles would stand out more with the Glossy Accents and the flames with glitter.

Guess my mood is also due to work and all the Halloween/Fall merchandise coming in. Add to it that I injured myself (at work)...Popped a rib out of place...I know, You did what? Yep that's what I said, Popped a rib. (I didn't know you could do such a thing!) However, I went to the chiropractor (twice) and he popped it back into place. Who knew?....

Hope you decide to join the challenge. Please leave a comment.

imagine what you could do...

Side note:
(lol I had pre-posted the card for the Digi Haven Challenge and I hope you check it out...I think it is certainly ironic!...especially the inside sentiment. lol)

Happy Birthday Jeff

Today my youngest, Jeff, is no longer a teenager...he is turning 20! (Oh, I am feeling old!) I made this card for him:

Finished Card: 4 1/4" x 5 1/2"

Materials:
Cardstock: White, Red and Patterned Paper
Little Scraps of Heaven Designs Digital Image
CardzTV with Mary Clear Stamps Make a Wish, "Happy Birthday!"
Spectrum Noir Markers
Spellbinders Nestabilities Labels Five, Largest
StazOn Jet Black Ink
Mounting Tape

He is in the process of becoming a firefighter (he has firefighter school to attend yet, which is in August), so I thought this was appropriate. The background paper reminded me of flames...not stick in your face kind of flames, but the idea of flames. Hope you get what I mean. The numbers in the corner are for his station.

Thanks for stopping by...I would love to hear what you think, so leave a comment.

Happy Bird-day!

Had a few minutes to make a card yesterday:

I love the bird image and I tried to imitate Mother Nature in the coloring of her.

Finished Card: 4 1/4" x 5 1/2"

Materials:
Cardstock: White, Burgundy, Green and Patterned
Free Vintage Digital Stamps
Spectrum Noir Markers
CardzTV with Mary Clear Stamps Make A Wish, "Happy BIRD-day!"
StazOn Jet Black Ink
Jolee's Boutique Bumble Bees Cabochons (3 Flowers)
Mounting Tape

I would also like to share a few other photos from this weekend:

Niki

Cobi

Gianna

Aren't they all adorable? I think so...ok, so I am a little biased...lol

Pinwheels

One of the things that summer brings to mind is pinwheels for me. Little kids carrying them around in the warm summer breeze or them spinning at the shore, waiting to be bought at the boardwalk shops. Silly little goofy toys but they conjure up nice memories.

Inside:

Finished Card: 4 1/4" x 5 1/2"

Materials:
Cardstock: White, Blue, Green and Patterned
Sweet Stamping Treats Digital Image
Spectrum Noir Markers
CardzTV with Mary Clear Stamps Make a Wish "Blow!"
Black Pigment Ink
Cuttlebug Embossing Folder D'Vine Swirls
Nicole Ultra Fine Premium Glitter Extra Fine Multi Diamond Dust
4 Small Brads (2 Light Purple and 2 Dark Purple)
Queen and Co Pearls Brilliant Blue, 3 Small
Studio G Clear Stamps "Happy Birthday"
Mounting Tape

I printed out the image twice, colored both the same, glittered the pinwheels on only the one page, then cut them and the base out and single mounted it to the other. They look like they could start spinning at any moment if you would just blow on them (lol) or from the D'Vine Swirls "breeze".

I am entering this into two challenges also: The Paper Players (Summertime) and Cupcake Inspirations (photo).

I also would like to share a photo with you. I painted this birdhouse (and named it "Fly By Night Motel") many years ago and have never had any birds interested in "renting" a room...until this year. I have been watching Mom and Pop going in and out feeding their little one(s) for the past few days. I am just so thrilled to see nature at it's best.

Thanks for stopping by...have a great day!

"Say I DO" CardzTV Stamps Challenge #9

The CardzTV Challenge is "Say I DO". Create a card, favor or craft project for an engagement, wedding shower or wedding. The challenge runs from May 25th, 26th and 27th. Mary at CardzTV is giving away a stamp set to the winner (your choice).

I made two cards. Here is the first:

It actually holds your gift (money or a gift card):

Finished Card: 4 1/4" x 5 1/2"

Materials:
Cardstock: White
Melonheadz Illustrating Digital Images
Spectrum Noir Markers
CardzTV with Mary Clear Stamps Happy Days ("Happy Wedding Day!") and Encouraging Thoughts "Love"
StazOn Jet Black Ink
Martha Stewart Punch Around the Page Cherry Blossom
Cuttlebug Companion Embossing Folders Simply Charmed
Spellbinders Nestabilities Labels Twenty-Three, Smallest
Ultra Fine Premium Glitter Extra Fine Multi Diamond Dust
Queen and Co Pearls Pearl, 6 Large
Queen and Company Rhinestones Snowflake, 3 Small
Thin White Ribbon
Two Eyelets
Mounting Tape

It's a gate-fold card turned on it's side. I embossed each side. I used the Cherry Blossoms corner punch on the inside corners but only on the one side. I put an eyelet through one of the flower middles to form a pouch for the money or gift card gift then tied ribbon through the holes. On a separate piece of card stock,  I punched around the page and added glitter to the outside flowers. I colored the image, cut around the image leaving a small border, then added glitter to the bottom of the dress and the veil. The sentiment is also embossed as well as cut from the Labels Twenty-Three Die (although you cannot see it in the photo). The flower piece, the image and the sentiment are all single mounted. Finally, I added the pearls and the rhinestones.

This is my second card:

Finished Card: 4 1/4" x 5 1/2"

Materials:
Cardstock: White
Beary Wishes Digital Image
Spectrum Noir Markers
CardzTV with Mary Clear Stamps Happy Days, "(Happy) Wedding Day" and Make a Wish "(Birthday) Blessings"
Cuttlebug Embossing Folder Swiss Dots
Cuttlebug Companion Embossing Folders Simply Charmed
EK Success Corner Rounder
Martha Stewart Punch Around the Page String Lace
EK Success Scallop Circle
Queen and Co Pearls Pearl, 2 Large, 2 Medium and 1 Small
Mounting Tape

The String Lace layer, the image and the sentiment are all single mounted. I used part of 2 different stamps to make my sentiment. (I only used the "Wedding Day" and "Blessings").

I hope that you like my cards. Hopefully, I have inspired you to take the challenge and make something of your own and enter it over at CardzTV.  Good luck and have fun!

Clown Card

I made this card awhile ago, but never posted it.

Finished Card: 4 1/4" x 5 1/2"

Materials:
Cardstock: White, Red and Patterned
Creative Hands Image
Spectrum Noir Markers
CardzTV with Mary Clear Stamps Make a Wish "Enjoy!", "It's Your Day!" and " Happy Birthday!"
StazOn Jet Black Ink
EK Success Corner Punch
Queen and Co Pearls Grass Green 2 Large, Red Berry 1 Large 2 Small
Mounting Tape

As you can see, this is a Gate-Fold card. I think the little guy is pretty cute, don't you?

I haven't been doing many challenges as I haven't been feeling well lately...thanks to my husband. (lol) He got sick and decided to share the wealth. I still have a sore throat, cough and headaches on and off. This stubborn thing just doesn't want to go away. During the short periods that I feel ok, I have been working on some invitations for a party I am planning on having next month. However, it's taking longer than I would like to get finished. Just like the tortoise, I will keep plugging along!

Don't forget to check out Digi Haven Challenge Blog. (They are still having a DT Call until May 31st).

Thanks for stopping by.

Popsicle Birthday

First of all...HAPPY MOTHER'S DAY!

I thought I would do a little crafting today. Here is the card I made:

I made it for the challenge at Cupcake Inspirations (photo inspiration).

Finished Card: 4 1/4" x 5 1/2"

Materials:
Cardstock: White, Yellow and Striped Patterned
Melonheadz Illustrating Digital Image

Lilac Pigment Ink
Black Pigment Ink
Clear Embossing Powder
Mounting Tape

My inspiration came from the colors on the cupcakes and the stripes in the plates and the coffee/tea pot.

Getting ready to go out for a late lunch/early dinner with the boys and my husband. Hope you have a wonderful day! Thanks for stopping by.

Happy (Humming)BIRD-day

I really like the way this card turned out.

Now you have to understand, it's on a (home-made) "Action Wobble", so it looks like the hummingbird is collecting nectar from the trumpet flower. (The "action" never shows up on the photo).

Finished Card: 4 1/4" x 5 1/2"

Materials:
Cardstock: Cream, White (for printing the images), Green and Patterned Paper
Melonheadz Illustrating Digital Image Hummingbird
Clipped Art from Internet Trumpet Flower
Spectrum Noir Markers
CardzTV with Mary Clear Stamps Make A Wish "Happy BIRD-day!"
StazOn Jet Black Ink
Home-made "Action Wobble"
Mounting Tape

I am entering this into the CropStop challenge "To the birds..."

I was lucky enough to have the chance to go to New York City yesterday, spend the night and go see the taping of "The Chew" this morning. My friend and neighbor got the tickets and invited three of us to join her. It was fun and very interesting (in more than one way...but I guess you really had to be there...lol) I really give her credit because she can drive in New York City (not something that I think I could do!) After the taping of the show, we ventured around the city a little bit before coming home. (Thanks Janet!)

Thanks for stopping by. Hope you like the card.

CardzTV with Mary Stamps Challenge # 8 "Color Me A Rainbow" Day 2 "Eat Cake"

Day 2 for the challenge at CardzTV this week called "Color Me A Rainbow" (Make a card or project for any occasion and use colors from the rainbow: pink, blue, green and yellow only...you can use a small amount of black and white also). I actually struggled with this for awhile, but then I made this card (I hope you like it):

Finished Card: 4 1/4" x 5 1/2"

Materials:
Cardstock: Two Shades of Pink, Blue,Yellow, White and Green Patterned
Melonheadz Illustrating Digital Image
Spectrum Noir Markers
CardzTV with Mary Clear Stamps Make A Wish "EAT cake!" and "Happy Birthday!"
StazOn Jet Black Ink
EK Success Border Punch Swiss Cheese
Inkssentials Glossy Accents
Nicole Ultra Fine Premium Glitter Extra Fine Multi DiamondDust
Mounting Tape

I printed out the image on white cardstock, then colored it in. I colored the background with a different shade of blue, as I didn't want any white cardstock showing. I used glitter on the star and Glossy Accents on the "Icing" and the "Swirl".  I double framed the image, then single mounted it on the green. I stamped "Happy Birthday!" on the inside, but forgot to take a picture.

Please join the challenge over at CardzTV. The winner will have their choice of any of Mary's CardzTV Stamp sets. Woo Hoo! The Challenge runs April 20, 21 and 22. Have fun and don't forget to check out the other Designer's projects. (We have some very talented ladies).

Thanks for stopping by. (Hope you checked out my card yesterday and come back tomorrow, I have a new one).

Popsicle Cards

At Scappy Moms Stamps, the challenge is "Anything On a Stick!" (Make a project with a stick). I actually made two similar cards.

The inside:

Finished Card: 4 1/4" x 5 1/2"

Materials:
Cardstock: White, Green or Blue, Black and Transparent Patterned
Cricut Cartridge Simply Charmed Popsicle, page 45 (Layer 1 Base, Layer 1 Shift, Layer 2 Base, Layer 2 Shift and Layer 3 Base)
CardzTV with Mary Clear Stamps Make A Wish "Sweet!", "EAT Cake!" and "Happy Birthday!"
StazOn Jet Black Ink
Pink Chalk
Wooden Ice Cream Stick
Mounting Tape

I haven't used my Cricut in awhile, but as soon as I saw this challenge, I immediately pictured these cards and I knew what cartridge I wanted to use. After cutting everything out and chalking the cheeks, I adhered the stick to the back of each popsicle. I glued the transparent background only where the popsicle would be, so no glue would show through. I double mounted the popsicles because of the thickness of the wooden stick. I thought the "EAT Cake!" sentiment was funny...I hope everyone gets it.

With the warmer weather, we have had a couple of really nice family days. On Sunday, everyone was home (including Gianna) and we spent a lot of fun time outdoors. We all played with Gianna while she played in her sandbox, her inflatable bouncy and her playset. My husband and sons also played horseshoes. It was a really nice day. Today, my husband, middle son and I played Chip and Putt. Haven't done that in awhile. The funniest part of it was that on the first nine, we ALL tied in score! WE all thought that was incredible. We played the second nine and if you can believe this, we all tied again!!!!...straight across the board! I don't think we could EVER do that again! lol I really enjoy these kinds of days!

For The Birds

Second post today...

Another Birthday Card...Can you ever have enough of them? I think not...lol

I combined two challenges for this card. At My Craft Spot the challenge is "For The Birds" (Make a project and include a bird) and at CropStop, the challenge is "Rainbow of Colors" (Use 4 different colors and shades of the same color do not count).

Finished Card: 4 1/4" x 5 1/2"

Materials:
Cardstock: White, Light Yellow/Orange, Pink, Green and Patterned Paper
Studio G i-cling Stamps, Bird
StazOn Black Ink
Sugarloaf Whispers Strokes Markers
Nicole Ultra Fine Premium Glitter, Extra Fine Multi Diamond Dust
Fiskars 3 in 1 Corner Punch
CardzTV with Mary Clear Stamps Make A Wish, "Happy Bird-day!"
Black Pigment Ink
Queen and Co Pearls, Pearl 2 Small
Pink Ribbon
Mounting Tape
Black Sharpie

After I outlined the bird's body with the marker, I used a brush with water to "color" the inside of the body. After it was dry, I glittered the body and the tail. Using a Sharpie, I added the legs to the bird. I am happy the way it all came together. What do you think?

Today is a beautiful sunny (but cool) day here. I am going to try and get outside in my front garden and pull out the old sticks. It would be nice to see the daffs, hyacinths and crocus that are blooming without all the old dead stuff around them. Have a nice rest of the day...

Leave a comment (I love reading them) and thanks for stopping by...

Happy Birthday Flowers

The Paper Players challenge this week is "Nance's Theme Challenge: Flowers" (Floral image on your card).

I've been playing around with markers and I came up with this card:

Happy BIRD-day!

Birthday Sundaes has a challenge this week to make an Easel Card with the birthday sentiment on the front. I made this cute little easel card.

And when opened:

and one more angle:

Finished Card: 3" x 3 1/2" ((to the top of the hat)

Materials:
Cardstock: White, Blue, Dark Blue, Yellow/Gold, Purple, Brown, Tan, Pink and Patterned Paper
Cricut Cartridge 3 Birds on Parade Bird 1, page 28 (Base, Shift, Layer 1 Base and Layer 1 Shift); Party, page 63 (Base (cut for the cupcake only), Layer 2 Base and Layer 2 Shift) and Nest, page 75 (Base and Shift)
Cricut Design Studio
CardzTV with Mary Clear Stamps Make A Wish, "Happy BIRD-day!"
Cuttlebug Embossing Folder D'Vine Swirls
Cuttlebug Embossing Folder Swiss Dots
Cuttlebug Embossing Folder Candy Cane Stripes
Inkssentials Glossy Accents
Black Pigment Ink
Small Yellow Pom Pom
Mounting Tape

I made this easel card by cutting a strip of white card stock 3" x 9". I scored at 3", 4 1/2" and 6". Fold to make a "M" shape. Glue the one side of the middle of the "M" to the side...this forms the front of the card. This is the base of the easel card. I added the patterned paper to the inside and decorated. I decorated an extra piece of card stock and adhered it to the front of the card. I hope you understand what I did. If not, you can check out Andrea's Stampin' Moments (click here). (I just changed the measurements).

My husband had bought me the CardzTV with Mary Clear Stamp Set "Make a Wish" for Christmas and as soon as I saw the sentiment "Happy BIRD-day!" I knew I wanted to make a"birdie birthday" card. I like how it turned out. Do you?

For The Birthday Boy

I did things a little different this time. If you have been following me the past few days, you know that I've been challenging myself by picking a number that coordinates with one of my Cricut cartridges to use in a challenge. Well this time, Random Generator picked a number for me (my son was not around today to ask him) for my cartridge. I used Random Generator again and had the number coordinate with a page number for that cartridge. THEN I looked at the challenges that I have been considering. This is what I came up with: Celebrate The Occasion "Child's Birthday"and Die Cuttin' Diva's Blue, Silver and White.

My card:

and the inside:

Finished Card: 4 1/4" x 5 1/2"

Materials:
Cardstock: White, Blue, Silver, White/Blue Core-dinations and Patterned Paper
Cricut Cartridge New Arrival Truck, page 119 (Blackout Base, Shift Base and Blackout Shift)
Cricut Design Studio
CardzTV with Mary Clear Stamps Make A Wish, "Birthday Boy"
Studio G Clear Stamp Happy Birthday
Queen and Co Pearls Brilliant Blue, 2 Large and 1 Small
Blue Ribbon
Sanding Paper (for Core-dinations Paper)
Mounting Tape

Hope you try to challenge yourself in a new way...it makes you really think! Happy crafting...

Thanks for stopping by.
