CardzTV Stamps Challenge # 11 "Anything Goes"

If you are looking for the Digi Haven Challenge, click here.

It's challenge time again at CardzTV with Mary Clear Stamps. This time it is "Anything Goes!" Now this opens up so much...and sometimes I think these challenges are so much harder. (I like to have a direction!) Although, I think I did pretty good with this...

Finished Card: 4" x 9"

Materials:
Cardstock: White, Two Shades of Orange, Black and Patterned Paper
Cricut Cartridge Create A Critter Giraffe, page 48 (Base, Layer 1 Base, Layer 2 Base and Accessory Base)
CardzTV with Mary Clear Stamps Critter Captions, "Thanks for stickin' your NECK out!"
StazOn Jet Black Ink
Sugarloaf Whispers Strokes Markers
Mounting Tape

I thought I would make this a TALL card, because of the giraffe (cut at 5 1/2"). I colored the nose (tan), the horns and "mane" (green) with the Sugarloaf Markers. I also used the green marker and colored the outside of the card to match. Although you can't see it, the giraffe is single mounted on the shadow layer. The sign and the sunglasses are also mounted. I thought the CardzTV sentiment was perfect! Mary has so many great stamp sets!

Hope you join the challenge. The winner will receive their choice of one of Mary's stamp sets. So get on over there and check it out!

Thanks for stopping by.

Just feel like I've been going to too many of these lately.

CardzTV with Mary Stamps Challenge # 8 "Color Me a Rainbow" Day 1 April Showers

This is the first day of the CardzTV with Mary Stamps Challenge "Color Me A Rainbow!" (Use the colors of the rainbow...pink, blue, yellow and green only...you can use a small amount of white and black also). Here is an Easel card that I made. I have only ever made a handful of them. Hope you like it.

Finished Card (when closed): 4 1/4" x 5 1/2"

Materials:
Card stock: White (for the base), Blue, Blue Patterned, Pink and Yellow Patterned, Green and Green Patterned
Cricut Cartridge Everyday Pop-Up Cards Umbrella, page 36 (Pop-Up Base)
CardzTV with Mary Clear Stamps Think Spring "How does your garden grow?" and "Friends are the flowers in the garden of life"
StazOn Jet Black Ink
Inkssentials Glossy Accents
Jolee's Boutique Stickers Vellum Tulips
Sugarloaf Whipsers Strokes Marker (Pink and Tan)
Mounting Tape

The base of the card is 5 1/2" x 8 1/2". I scored it in the middle at 4 1/4" and then half of that at 2 1/8". I cut the umbrella out at 6" twice (once in white and once in patterned paper). I cut off all the tabs on the patterned piece, colored the umbrella handle tan, then glued the top to the white base.  It's hard to see but I added stitch lines with the tan marker to the umbrella also. I glued the blue patterned paper to a separate piece of white card stock (cut at 4 1/4" x 5 1/2"). Next, I added the popped-up umbrella (the tab from the handle goes under to the back of the separate white base). I added the Glossy Accents to the blue background and the umbrella. After it was dry, I single mounted the sentiment. I glued green patterned paper to the "inside" of the base card, added the mounted sentiment and then adhered the tulips. Finally I glued a piece of blue card stock to the back of the umbrella piece and then glued it to the easel base. Now I will confess, that before I added the blue card stock to the back, I started to glue it to the easel base but realized that I only have to glue half of it to fit on there. So that's why I added the blue card stock. Mistakes? There are NO mistakes...just lessons learned!) lol

Mary at CardzTV is giving away one of her stamp sets (your choice) to the winner of the challenge. The Challenge runs April 20, 21 and 22. Check out all the other projects also.

I am entering this card into several other challenges:
CardzTV "April Showers" (Any occasion using an umbrella, rain boots, clouds, raindrops, puddles, etc)
My Cuttlebug Spot, Make an Easel Card
Made Especially for You, Use 3 Flowers
My Craft Spot "Make It Pop!" (Use dimension)
Fantabulous Cricut "April Showers" (Use an umbrella, rain or clouds)

Thanks for stopping by today. (Leave a comment). Don't forget to drop by on Sat and Sun too. I have two more cards.

Birthday Cupcake

Die Cuttin' Diva's has a sketch challenge that reminds me of a patchwork quilt. I made a birthday card.

Finished Card: 4 3/4" x 4 3/4"

Materials:
Cardstock: Blue, Purple and Three Different Patterned Papers
Martha Stewart Punch All Over The Page Punch Scallop Square
Inkadinkado Clear Stamps Birthday Cupcake (Large)
StazOn Jet Black Ink
Sugarloaf Whispers Strokes Markers
Nicole Ultra Fine Premium Glitter, Extra Fine Multi Diamond Dust
CardzTV with Mary Clear Stamps Ticket Talk "Happy Birthday!"
Homemade "Bakers Twine" with Aunt Lydia's Crochet Thread and Spectrum Noir Markers
Queen and Co Pearls, Lavender 6 Small
Mounting Tape

I glittered the top of the cupcake (although I think it is hard to see in the photo). I also double mounted it. The birthday sign is single mounted. It was a fun challenge and pretty easy to put together. Just image what other designs you could put on there...butterflies, flowers, and well, just about anything. The possibilities are endless.

I have to get cleaning...ugh...for tomorrow. Have a great rest of the day. Take a little time to craft...I may sneak away later...shhh, don't tell anyone (lol).

Thanks for stopping by.

For The Birds

Second post today...

Another Birthday Card...Can you ever have enough of them? I think not...lol

I combined two challenges for this card. At My Craft Spot the challenge is "For The Birds" (Make a project and include a bird) and at CropStop, the challenge is "Rainbow of Colors" (Use 4 different colors and shades of the same color do not count).

Finished Card: 4 1/4" x 5 1/2"

Materials:
Cardstock: White, Light Yellow/Orange, Pink, Green and Patterned Paper
Studio G i-cling Stamps, Bird
StazOn Black Ink
Sugarloaf Whispers Strokes Markers
Nicole Ultra Fine Premium Glitter, Extra Fine Multi Diamond Dust
Fiskars 3 in 1 Corner Punch
CardzTV with Mary Clear Stamps Make A Wish, "Happy Bird-day!"
Black Pigment Ink
Queen and Co Pearls, Pearl 2 Small
Pink Ribbon
Mounting Tape
Black Sharpie

After I outlined the bird's body with the marker, I used a brush with water to "color" the inside of the body. After it was dry, I glittered the body and the tail. Using a Sharpie, I added the legs to the bird. I am happy the way it all came together. What do you think?

Today is a beautiful sunny (but cool) day here. I am going to try and get outside in my front garden and pull out the old sticks. It would be nice to see the daffs, hyacinths and crocus that are blooming without all the old dead stuff around them. Have a nice rest of the day...

Leave a comment (I love reading them) and thanks for stopping by...

Get Messy Birthday Card

Birthday Sundaes has a challenge this week called "Get Messy Birthday Card" (use lots of inking, paints or mists).

Here is my card:

Finished Card: 4 1/4" x 5 1/2"

Materials:
Cardstock: White and Orange/Yellow
Inkadinkado Clear Stamps, Birthday Cupcake (Large Cupcake and "Sweet Birthday Wishes")
StazOn Jet Black Ink
Sugarloaf Whispers Strokes Markers
Cuttlebug Embossing Folder Happy Birthday
Five Different Colors of Pigment Inks
Spellbinders Nestabilities Standard Circle Large, 3rd Largest
Spellbinders Nestabilities Labels Five, 3rd Largest
Ribbon
Mounting Tape
Sponge
Water Mister

First, I embossed some white card stock, then wiped the pigment inks all over. Next, I misted it with a little water. Then, I took the sponge (I used a make-up wedge) and wiped over the ink in a circular motion. Let dry. I cut out the Labels Five shape and used the same technique on that. I stamped the cupcake with StazOn Ink and colored that with the Sugarloaf Markers. I fussy cut the cupcake. Cut the large rectangle and circle, then I assembled everything together.

I had fun with trying something different...and this is why I love challenges! Don't be afraid to experiment...what's the worst that can happen? You throw out the paper and start again! However, you just might make a masterpiece...lol. (Now if I would only take my own advice and try vinyl...hahaha...someday!).

Thanks for stopping by...I would love to hear from you.

CardzTV DT Challenge #6 "Anything Goes!"

This challenge at CardzTV is "Anything Goes!" Now I don't know about anyone else, but sometimes I find this type of challenge the hardest. Too many directions that you can go...

Here is what I came up with:

Finished Card: 4 1/4" x 5 1/2"

Materials:
Cardstock: White and Purple
Inkadinkado Clear Stamps, Doodle Flowers "Tulip"
CardzTV with Mary Clear Stamps, Think Spring, "Friends are Flowers in the Garden of Life"
Sugarloaf Whispers Strokes Markers
Spellbinders Nestabilities Labels Two, Largest
Cuttlebug Embossing Folder Herringbone
Black Pigment Ink
StazOn Jet Black Ink
Purple Ribbon
4 Small Purple Buttons
Mounting Tape

I stamped the tulip 3 times and added the grass at the bottom. Don't you think it came out nice?

I needed a birthday card, so I decided to stamp "Happy Birthday" from the CardzTV with Mary Clear Stamps "Ticket Talk" Set on the inside of the card underneath "in the garden of life". Also, don't forget that Mary is giving away a set of stamps on her blog (Click here).

Thanks for stopping by...

Center Step Birthday Card

At Birthday Sundaes the challenge is to make a Step Card with a Birthday Sentiment. I have never made one of these before. I checked out the tutorials they listed at Birthday Sundaes and decided to try the Center Step Card...although I did change the measurements so I would make a 4 1/4" x 5 1/2" card.

The inside:

Finished Card: 4 1/4" x 5 1/2"

Materials:
Cardstock: White, Pink, Brown and Patterned Paper
Cricut Cartridge Everyday Pop-Up Cards Cake, page 64 (Base, Layer 1 Base and Layer 1 Shift)
Studio G Clear Stamps "Celebrate" and "Happy Birthday"
Cuttlebug Embossing Folder D'Vine Swirls
Sugarloaf Whispers Strokes Markers, Yellow and Orange
Sprectrum Noir Markers, 2 Shades of Blue
Black Pigment Ink
Glue Dots
Mounting Tape
2 Flower Buttons, Pink
Pink Sheer Ribbon

I really like the way this turned out and I plan on making more of these types of cards. You should try one sometime.

I haven't been around on my blog lately. Haven't had much mojo since my son's accident last week. Also I've been very busy with getting my taxes completed and my granddaughter being over. I'm hoping my mojo is back...

Have a great rest of the day...thanks for stopping by.

Sketch...Die Cuttin' Diva's

At Die Cuttin' Diva's this week, the challenge is a sketch.

This is my card:

Here is the sketch:

Finished Card: 4 1/4" x 5 1/2"

Materials:
Cardstock: White, Green and 2 Different Patterned Papers
Inkadinkado Clear Stamps Doodle Flowers
Sugarfloaf Whispers Strokes Markers
StazOn Jet Black Ink
Spellbinders Nestabilities Labels Five, Largest
EKS Border Punch Scallop Diamond
Cuttlebug Embossing Folder Herringbone
Queen and Co Pearls, Grass Green 2 Small and 2 Large
Green Ribbon
Mounting Tape

I stamped the tulip image three times, colored and then cut it out. I single mounted the tulips on the Nestabilities cut (which is the same paper as the largest background). The "grass" at the bottom is double mounted. No sentiment as of yet. I figure I could use it for a variety of occasions...Birthday, Anniversary, Mother's Day, Thinking of you, Get well or even a Just Because.

Been playing with the markers lately, but I need to get back to the Cricut...I know it misses me...lol. It's fun to "play" with other tools that we seem to forget. Maybe there is something that you have not used in awhile? Think about it...I would love to hear what it is. Leave me a comment.

Thanks for stopping by...
