There is a challenge at Fantabulous Cricut called "Valentiny Cards" (make a 3 x 3 card for Valentine's Day). I made 3 cards.
Finished Card: 3" x 3"
Materials:
Cardstock: White, Dark Red, Pink and Three Different Patterned Papers
Cricut Cartridge Tie The Knot Thank You, page 59 (Base and Blackout/Shadow Shift)
Cricut Design Studio
CardzTV with Mary Clear Stamps "Ticket Talk", Three Different Size Hearts
Queen and Co Pearls, Orchid and Classy Red 2 Large, 2 Medium and 2 Small each
Queen and Co Rhinestones, Orchid 2 Large, 2 Medium and 2 Small
Red Pigment Ink
Mounting Tape
Fairly quick and easy project. I stamped the pink "Thank you" heart with the 3 hearts from CardzTV clear stamps with red pigment ink, glued it to the dark red heart and then used the mounting tape to adhere it to the background paper. I finished it with the pearls/rhinestones.
Leave a comment (always love reading what you think) and thanks for stopping by...

Scappy Mom Stamps Terrific Tuesday Challenge - Sweethearts!
This week at Scappy Moms Stamps (click here), the challenge is Sweethearts. Now I personally do not own the Cricut Cartridge Sweethearts, however, I do have the Cartridge Tie The Knot. I thought that it would be similar enough. I made the petal box with valentine cardstock.
I cut a heart window using Cricut Design Studio, so you can see the goodies inside. At the top, I added four (4) hearts with a contrasting cardstock.
Finished Size: 2 3/4' x 2 3/4" x 2 1/2"
Materials:
Cardstock: Patterned Valentine Paper
Cricut Cartridge Tie the Knot Petal Box page 69 (Base), Love (Heart) page 54 (Base Shift)
Cricut Design Studio
Acetate (for heart window)
I was planning on making a few of these to give to my three (3) sons for Valentine's Day (I always give them just a little something), however, I'm not really that pleased with the way it folds together. I feel like the sides keep collapsing in on themselves. I guess I'm more of a traditionalist and like boxes that have sides. Now don't get me wrong, I like it, I just don't love it. Hey, but it was worth trying...at least once. (lol) Back to the drawing board...
Try something new...what's the worst that can happen? You ruin a piece of paper?...big deal! It's worth the risk...hey, you just might find that you love it...
Leave me a comment (become a follower) and tell me if you have ever made the petal box and what you thought of it....I really would love to know...Thanks...imagine what you could do......................

Champagne for two...
Our family attended a beautiful wedding this past weekend. Our niece was married at Lake George. She looked like a princess. One of the guests (she was about 3 maybe 4 years old), wanted to have her picture taken "with the pretty lady".
I had made this card a while ago but had never put any sentiment in it. I thought that it would be perfect to give to the bride and groom.
Finished size: 4 1/4" x 5 1/2"
Materials:
Cricut Cartridge Tie the Knot Toast Base (page 44), Shift Base
Martha Stewart Deep Edger Punch-Garden Trellis
Gold Glitter
Cardstock: Patterned paper, White
Ribbon
Directions:
1. Fold 8 1/2" x 5 1/2" card in half to make an A2 card (4 1/4" x 5 1/2"). Using the Garden Trellis punch, punch the long edge of the front of the card.
2. Cut the pattered paper to fit the inside of the card (4 1/4" x 5 1/2"). Glue down. Cut another piece for the front leaving 1/4" border (I'm not sure of the exact measurements).
3. Cut the ribbon so it fits around the patterned paper long-wise, then adhere to the back of the front panel. Glue the panel down.
4. Using Tie the Knot cartridge, cut the toast (glasses) base in white cardstock. (again, not sure of the exact measurement...) Cut the Shift base also in white cardstock. Cut off the stem of the glasses, glitter the top of the glasses and the bubbles with gold. Layer and 3D-Dot to the front of the card.
5. Stamp the sentiment to the inside of the card. I used "Best Wishes".
I hope that the bride and groom liked my card, as I gave it with love. I hope all their dreams come true... now go and make your creative dreams come true...imagine what you could do....

A Different Look
Just a quick post right now. Just by turning the card and using different papers, you can change the look. The directions are exactly the same as in my earlier post.
I hope this inspires you to try a variation...I can only imagine what you could do...

Monogram Notecards
I know it's not even the end of summer yet, but I always start thinking about Christmas this time of year. I thought this would be a great gift for someone.
I used the Cricut cartridge Tie the Knot and cut out six (6) Monogram letters and six (6) Shadow Monogram letter A's. (I only show three of each in this picture). These are cut at 2 1/2". Using the quantity key makes this pretty easy.
For the base of the card, I cut an 8 1/2" x 11" piece of white cardstock in half (at 5 1/2"). I then folded the cardstock in half at 4 1/4". You actually get two bases out of one sheet. Repeat two (2) more times to get 6 base cards.
Next, cut out six (6) 3 3/4" x 5" rectangles out of white cardstock. Emboss each rectangle with your favorite embossing folder. There is a blank card on the top left...(clockwise) I used Quikutz Lines and Dots, Cuttlebug D'vine Swirls, Swiss Dots, Spots and Dots, Tiny Mosaic, and Traffic Jam. You may want to use only one folder for all six cards.
Then, I cut out six (6) rectangles 4" x 5 1/4" of cardstock the same color as the shadow monogram. Center and glue to base card. Next, glue the embossed cardstock pieces to the colored cardstock.
(Sorry...The embossing is difficult to see in these photos.) Finally, glue the Monogram letter to it's Shadow and glue to the embossed cardstock.
These photos show all six (6) different note cards.
On the next post, I will show you how I packaged these cards in order to give as a gift.
I hope you are becoming inspired to try something on your own. I would love to hear from you and what you think. Please leave a comment. Hope to hear from you, until then.....imagine what you could do!
