The Paper Players Challenge..."Music"
Second post for today...
"Music" was the name of the challenge at The Paper Players. (Add music to your project or create a project inspired by your favorite song). I thought that this would be a good chance for me to use the music embossing folder (Allegro) with the Core'dinations Cardstock pad that I had just purchased.
Finished Card: 4 1/4" x 5 1/2"
Materials:
Cardstock: Gray, White, Yellow, Black and Black/Gray Core'dinations
Cricut Cartridge Create A Critter Bee, page 68 (Base, Layer 1 Base)
Cuttlebug Embossing Folder Allegro
Queen and Co Pearls Nightfall, 2 Large
Computer Sentiment
Bee Sticker
The sentiment is actually the title of a Bee Gees song (You Should Be Dancin')...I took a little artistic license with this...lol. I have never used the Cord'dinations paper before and I thought it worked well. I usually am a very straight-cut kind-of a designer, but because of the gray "core", I wanted it to show, so that's why I ripped the edges. I continued that thought with the sentiment also.
Hope you like this project...let me know and leave a comment. Thanks for stopping by.

Two Challenges...Use Ribbon
I would like to submit the card I made for two challenges. The first is Birthday Sundaes (Use Ribbon on your Birthday Card). The second is Celebrate the Occasion (Any Occasion...must use Ribbon).
Here is my card:
Finished Card: 4 1/4" x 5 1/2"
Materials:
Cardstock: White, Blue, Red, Orange,Yellow, Green, Gray and Two Patterned Papers
Cricut Cartridge Simply Charmed Cupcake 1, page 77 (Base, Layer 1 Base, Layer 2 Base, Layer 3 Base, Layer 4 Base and Shadow Base)
Cricut Design Studio
Cuttlebug Embossing Folder D'vine Swirls
Cuttlebug Embossing Folder Mosaic Tiles
Happy Birthday Ribbon
Inkadinkado Clear Stamps Birthday Cupcakes "Sweet Birthday Wishes", "Celebrate" and a Cupcake
Blue Pigment Ink
Red Pigment Ink
Black Pigment Ink
Queen and Co Pearls, Berry Red 4 Small
Irridescent Glitter
It's always nice to have an extra birthday card around the house...for those unexpected times. My sons use them all the time.
Although my work schedule still hasn't changed (still working a lot of hours), I've been trying harder to craft when I have some available time. I'm trying to get my livingroom painted (although it's not really used as a livingroom..it houses our pool table). Couldn't find a paint color that I was happy with...until last week. So now starts the spackling, and sanding...woo hoo.
Well, happy creating...leave a message (I always love to read your comments)

"Welcome Baby" Cricut 360 Challenge
A few weeks ago, the Walmart that I frequent was having a clearance sale on their Cricut Lite Cartridges. I thought I would pick up a couple of them since they were half price. I bought Block Party, B is for Boy and Sugar and Spice, thinking that maybe I could use them sometime. Well, Cricut 360 is having a challenge called "Welcome Baby". I thought this would be a perfect time to use the Sugar and Spice Cartridge.
Here is my card:
Finished Card: 4 1/4' x 5 1/2"
Materials:
Cardstock: White, Green, Yellow, Black and Vellum Patterned Paper
Cricut Lite Cartridge Sugar And Spice Stork, 35th Button (Base, Shift and Layer Base)
Cricut Design Studio
Cuttlebug Embossing Folder D'vine Swirls
Sizzix Embossing Folder Scrollwork
Light Green and Light Yellow Chalk
Two Medium Size Buttons Light Yellow
Mounting Tape
Computer Printed Sentiment
I cut the green cardstock 4" x 5 1/4". I then cut the vellum 4 1/4" x 5 1/4". I used a scoring board to score the vellum at 1/4" from the top. I folded it over and then placed it over the green cardstock and taped it down on the back. In this way I didn't have to adhere the vellum on the front. I don't know about you but I don't like the tape/glue to show through when using vellum. I cut a piece of white cardstock at 3 3/4" x 5" and glued that between the vellum and the green cardstock. I thought the white cardstock would help show the vellum off better. After embossing, I lightly chalked the pieces. I thought the buttons at the top just finished the card off.
Would love to hear from you...leave a comment

A hidden card...
And then the inside:
Finished Card: 4 1/4" x 5 1/2"

Frankly...Three Challenges
I made this card for Three Challenges...Cardz TV - Cricut Cardz Challenge "Things That Go Bump In The Night", CropStop " Let's Block It Out!" and Birthday Sundaes "Who's Got The Button? Birthday Card".
Here is my card:
and the inside:
Finished Card: 4 1/4" x 5 1/2"
Materials:
Cardstock: Orange, Gray, Green, Black, Brown, Metallic Silver and Three Different Patterned Papers
Cricut Cartridge Mini Monsters It's Alive, page 44 (Base, Layer 1 Base and Shift Layer 2 Base and Base Shadow)
Scrappy Moms Clear Stamps (Halloween) "Frankly, You're The Best!"
Inkadinkado Thinking of You Clear Stamps, All Occasions "Happy Birthday"
Googly Eyes, Two
Orange Button
Le Plume II, Brown
Mounting Tape
The Scrappy Moms Stamp that I used was from a set that I won about a week ago. I was so excited when I received the news. I couldn't wait to use one. Frankly, (lol) I think the inspiration started there.
I mounted Frankenstein and the Pumpkin (button) with a single layer of mounting tape and the sign with a double layer.
Been on "vacation" for the last two weeks...My husband and I went to Ocean City, Maryland for a few days. This was our view from our hotel room:
Isn't that beautiful? We went to sleep with the sound of the ocean...aahhh, Can I go back?
One day we took our granddaughter with our son to the Philadelphia Zoo. We (my husband and I) visited Historic Smithville in New Jersey. We were able to go out to dinner with some friends on one night and family on another. We also had to get my CR-V's air conditioning fixed (the compressor broke), wait for the repairman for my new dishwasher to come and we bought a new mattress. We were hoping to get some things done around the house and maybe to be able to go somewhere else for a few days, however, the weather didn't want to cooperate and my husband ended up with a nasty cold. We also celebrated our anniversary. I get to return to work on Monday. My husband goes back on Thursday. It always goes by too fast.
Thanks for stopping by...please leave a comment (I look forward to reading them)
