Update From The Hurricane And The Winner Is....

Update and the winner of my give-away....

First, thanks for the concerns with Hurricane Irene....We ended up without too much trouble...we did not lose power. (Two flickers, that's all). The only damage we had was on our plastic on the window of our porch. We will have to replace it but really NO BIG DEAL. I feel very blessed that was all that happened.

My three sons decided that it was a perfect time to go swimming in the rain (although the photo does show that it really was pouring).  Then they decided to make a slip 'n slide...

They had such a great time. Afterward, they sang happy birthday (ice cream cake) and then we played a few games. I really enjoyed spending time with them (even though I didn't win any of the games! Don't they know that the birthday person is suppose to win? lol). Unfortunately, my husband had to be at work.

Now to the winner....

I just love the birthday sign, card and especially the cake goodie box. I have been trying to use my circuit cutter more often. I have to thank you for inspiring me to get it in the first place and this blog of yours is what gives me the additional inspiration to use it. For your birthday I think you should either spend it with Joe and the boys and your granddaughter if you can. We all know finding time when everyones schedules coordinate is hard to come by and if that doesn't work go to a spa for a few hours of me time. Call me I will go with you. LOL Enjoy your day. Love and friends Annette ahjanocha@comcast.net You know where to find me.

Relax Birthday Card (and don't forget about my give-away)

It's been a strange week...first an earthquake and now a hurricane. I'm hoping and praying that everyone in the path of the hurricane stays safe...we live in New Jersey, so unfortunately, we are in Irene's path.

On to other things....At Cricut 360, the challenge is "Relax". Make a project with any cartridge with this in mind. Well, I made this card awhile ago, but never shared it. It's a birthday card (big surprise that I have birthdays on my  mind, huh? lol...for those who don't know, my birthday is tomorrow, the 27th, and my blog is having it's birthday this month also...so I am having a give-away, more about that later).

Here is the card:

Finished card: 5 1/2" x 5 1/2"

Materials:
Cardstock: Tan, Brown and Patterned Paper
Cricut Cartridge Paper Pups Relaxdog, page 114 (Base, Shift and Shadow)
Ready-Made Card with Embossing Stripes
Ribbon
Computer Printed Sentiment in Brown Ink
Mounting Tape
Glue Dot

I think it's funny that my card is similar to one of the design team members cards...like I said, I made this awhile ago. Great minds think alike, huh?

So, to the birthday give-away... Full details are on Monday's post (Click Here). You must leave a comment (answer the question, "What should I do for my birthday?"), be a follower and leave me a way to contact you if you are the winner. Remember, the comment MUST be on MONDAY"S post to be eligible. Good Luck!

Keep Safe...

Thank You Cards and Don't Forget About My Give-Away

Back to School CropStop Challenge #32

Wow, I haven't made anything for any challenges (except Fantabulous Cricut) for a LONG time. I was looking through the dashboard and happen to see this challenge from CropStop. Make a project related to Back to School. I don't make many layouts, but I thought this image needed just that. I hope you like it...

Simple, but to the point...

Finished Layout: 12" x 12"

Materials:
Cardstock: Orange/Yellow, Gray, Black, Dark Blue, and 5 Different Patterned Papers
Cricut Cartridge Autumn Celebrations Books, page 22 (Base, Shift, Layer 1 Base, Layer 1 Shift, Layer 2 Base and Layer 2 Shift); Schoolbus ("Back 2 School") page 39 (Phrase Layer)
Mounting Tape

While playing with this cartridge, I noticed that most of the images have a suggested cut measurement (5 inches or larger), which makes this cartridge great to use for layouts. The images do have a lot of layers and some of them are very detailed. It would be hard to use them on a card. Nevertheless, the cartridge has some different themes. Well worth looking at the cartridge.

Still working a lot of hours. Going to try an work on my craftroom today since we have thunderstorms...it is such a mess. No, that doesn't even describe it...maybe bomb went off in it describes it a little better. Anyway, I think you get the picture.

Have a great rest of the day.

Let's Get Buggy!

At Fantabulous Cricut this week, the challenge was "Let's Get Buggy!" (Use a bug on your project). I decided to make a Get Well Card. Here it is:

and the inside:

Finished Card: 4 1/4" x 5 1/2"

Materials:
Cardstock: White, Dark Blue, Black, Green Patterned Paper and Blue Striped Patterned Paper.
Cricut Cartridge Cricut Everyday Cricut page 22, (Phrase Base and Shift) and page 23, (Base Shift and Layer 1 Base)
Cricut Cartridge George and Basic Shapes "?" page 89, (Base Shift and Shadow Shift
Cricut Design Studio
Cuttlebug Embossing Folder Swiss Dots
Queen and Co Pearls, 2 Small Nightfall and 1 Small and 2 Medium Grass Green
Inkadinkado Happy Everything Stamp Set (feel better soon)
Black Pigment Ink
Mounting Tape

A few months ago, I won a 3 month membership to the Cricut Circle and as one of the perks, I received the Cricut Cartridge Cricut Everyday. (I'll be honest, I am completely lost how to use Cricut Circle. My membership is almost up, but if anyone could give me a hint, I would appreciate it...I feel so stupid!) Anyway, all of the cuts on the cartridge are somehow related to crafting. I wasn't sure how I was going to use this cartridge when I received it; however, when this challenge came about, I thought of the Cricuit "Bug" and a play on words. (I thought it was cute/funny anyway...lol).

Wanted to share this picture of my son and my granddaughter (his daughter) in the pool this past week. She is such a ray of sunshine in our lives.

Hope that you have a wonderful week.

P.S. This month is a year since I started my blog. I can't believe it's been that long already! Also my birthday is coming up at the end of the month, so keep checking back as I am planning on a give-away.
And as always, leave me a comment, I love hearing from you! Thanks!!
