Birthday Bash

At Fantabulous Cricut this week, the challenge was "Birthday Bash".  Make a birthday project. Well, the timing couldn't have been any better for me...First, my blog is 1 year old this month...Woo Hoo!!! I cannot believe it's been a year since I started out on this journey...and an interesting one it has been. Secondly, my birthday is on Saturday. So, Happy Birthday to Me!!!

For my project, I made a Birthday Banner:

Finished Banner: approximately 3 1/2" x 3 1/2' (yes, feet)

Cardstock: Orange, Light Blue, Purple, Yellow, Red and Brown
Cricut Cartridge Happy Graduation (Congratulations) Banner
Cricut Cartridge George & Basic Shapes Various Letters "H" "A" "P" Y" "B" "I" "R" "T" "D", (Shadow)
Cricut Cartridge Sweet Treats Cupcake 6, page 29 (Base, Layers, Layers Shift and Shadow/Blackout Shift)
Cricut Design Studio
Sizzix Embossing Folder Scrollwork
White Curling Ribbon
White Gel Pen

I also made a card and a favor box to match:

Finished Card: 4 1/4" x 5 1/2"

Cardstock: White, Orange, Light Blue, Purple, Yellow, Red and Brown
Cricut Cartridge Sweet Treats Cupcake 6, page 29 (Base, Layers, Layers Shift, Shadow and Shadow/Blackout Shift)
Cricut Design Studio
Sizzix Embossing Folder Scrollwork
Cuttlebug Embossing Folder Happy Birthday
Martha Stewart Deep Edge Punch Happy Birthday
Yellow Ribbon
White Gel Pen
Mounting Tape

( I did add the white dots on the cupcake after the picture was taken to match the banner...did anyone pick up that I forgot the dots?)

Finished Box: 2 1/4" x 3" x 1 3/4"

Cardstock: Purple, Brown, Light Blue and Orange
Cricut Cartridge Sweet Tooth Boxes Cake Slice, page 10 (Cake, Cake Layer 2 and Cake Layer 3)

  1. Well Happy Birthday & Happy Blogaversary! Great project for the FCCB Challenge- so bright and cheerful! I think you should treat yourself to something special that you want that you haven't done/purchased for your birthday! Give yourself a present from you! :)Amy

  2. This is a total "Birthday Bash" for you! Congrats on your blog anniversary, that is so exciting, and a happy birthday to you this week as well. The projects you made are wonderful, the banner should stay up all week long and then even longer :)

  3. Happy early birthday :) I love the banner--what a great idea. I hope you do something special for your day! How about a mani or pedi? :)

  4. Great banner! Banners are so fun and make everything look more festive.

  5. Great banner and birthday projects! I love the favor box the most, though -- probably because I see candy inside it. :)

I think you should go on a scrapbooking/papercrafting retreat for your birthday -- with a massage too!

    Your fellow DT gal,

  6. Love your banner, card and favor box. Hope you have a very happy birthday and happy blogoversary!

    Your Fellow DT Member,

  7. Super cute projects!! You made a package!! I love the colors and I love the cupcakes from Sweet Treats!! TFS!! Take Care!!
    Jennie @

  8. I think your projects are just wonderful! Thanks for stopping by my blog and leaving such nice comments. I'm happy to be your newest follower. I agree with Amy... buy something for yourself for your birthday...preferably something CRAFTY!!! I also posted your giveaway on my blog.
    hugs, Jenni

  9. I just love the birthday sign, card and especially the cake goodie box. I have been trying to use my circuit cutter more often. I have to thank you for inspiring me to get it in the first place and this blog of yours is what gives me the additional inspiration to use it. For your birthday I think you should either spend it with Joe and the boys and your granddaughter if you can. We all know finding time when everyones schedules coordinate is hard to come by and if that doesn't work go to a spa for a few hours of me time. Call me I will go with you. LOL Enjoy your day. Love and friends Annette You know where to find me.

  10. Your banner is so beautifully bright and cheerful. I love the shapes. I Think you should relax in the morning, pet your dogs, and do all the things you wish you had time for. I am a follower. I love that you used a lot of orange.

  11. Happy Birthday and I love your banner. For your birthday have a spa day. Get pampered, manicure, pedicure, massage, (you know your neck and shoulders get tight when crafting). Have a decadent dinner with lots of wine and of course, Eat Cake!!! Enjoy.

  12. Happy early birthday!! Love the banner and love the card and box!!
So for your birthday I think you should craft...all day long....have a glass of wine and of course a cake!! I hope your day is fab anyway you choose to spend it!
Oh yeah congrats on your blogiversary!!

  13. Happy, Happy Birthday Dana!! What a terrific giveaway you are offering. Love your HB banner--very nice as is your card and cake box. Too cute (and I didn't notice the missing dots!) With the forecast of Hurricane Irene coming up the east coast, I think you should enjoy a nice dinner out on Saturday (after you've done some shopping during the day, of course!). And on Sunday, since it will probably be raining like crazy, you should plan to stay in your craft room and create all day! Tell the hubs to have dinner ready for you when you emerge! ENJOY your day! Thanks for such a great giveaway!--Pat N.

  14. Happy Birthday. Love the banner, my fav colors. Looks so happy and festive. Hope your day is filled with lots of smiles and fab presents! :o)

  15. Happy Birthday! Happy Blogaversary!
Wow, how fun to be celabrating 2 special days!
Breakfast in bed & spending time with family & friends for your birthday!
I am a new follower, looking forward to seeing more of your fabulous creations! Love banners & boxes!
Thanks for the chance to win such fabulous goodies:)

  16. Wow...a birthday and a blogoversary! Awesome!!! And congrats! I think you should be queen for a day on your what you want, eat what you want (calories don't count on your birthday anyway!) and just have a fun and relaxing day. Maybe even lock yourself in your craft room for a few hours and just create!

Whatever you do, I hope you have a wonderful day!

  17. Happy birthday and blogoversary! I'm a new follower. My idea for celebrating your birthday involves some retail therapy and chocolate cake. Have a wonderful day. May all your wishes come true.

  18. Birthdays and the best! Number 1, celebrate with family and friends, and number 2, do something for you! Is there anything you have been wanting to do or try? Do it! (or take a trip somewhere!) I hope you have a fabulous day!
