All You Need is LOVE

There is a theme challenge at The Paper Players called "All You Need is LOVE".

While I was talking to my son, he asked me if he could pick another number to coordinate with my Cricut cartridges (like he did for the challenges I posted yesterday, Sunday the 8th). So, I said sure...Well, the cartridge that came up was "From My Kitchen"...not exactly the easiest cartridge. Then looking through the book, I found it...the perfect image...what do you think?

Materials:
Cardstock: White, Two Shades of Green and Patterned Paper

Cricut Design Studio
CardzTV with Mary Clear Stamps, Ticket Talk "I Love You"
Computer Sentiment "We Make a Great Pear!"
Two Different Ribbons
LaPlume Marker Brown and Green
Brown Pigment Ink
Mounting Tape

I used Design Studio to hide the other fruit and cut the pear twice in two different shades of green. I shadowed the pear with the brown pigment ink. I used the brown marker to color the stem and the green marker to line the leaf.

I think you could use this for a variety of reasons...Valentine's Day, Anniversary or even a Birthday or Get Well Card.

I am having so much fun adding the extra challenge to these challenges. You should try it. I even had a suggestion to try using a certain page number. Now that might be really hard...maybe I'll see if I'm up to it....lol.

Birthday Card...Three Challenges Plus...

The three challenges I am submitting my card in are: CropStop "Go For The Gold!" (Use gold on your project), Birthday Sundaes (Make a birthday card with the sentiment on the front) and Fantabulous Cricut "Warming Up With Hot Cocoa" (Use a cup or chocolate or even the color brown on your project). My "Plus" is my own challenge. Sometimes I feel like I use the same Cricut cartridges, so I asked my son to pick a number to coordinate with one of my Cricut cartridges. It ended up being "Happy Graduation". I looked over all the images and thought that this might be hard to find something for a birthday theme..then I found it....

As you can see, I picked the big star image. The gold star is SO shiny that when you look at it, you will see your own image. Now you understand the sentiment inside. (I thought it was a cute idea).

I think I may try this a lot more by asking one of my boys to pick a number and play this challenge again. Maybe I'll find some new images that I didn't know I had. You should try it...it was really fun.

Happy New Year Card...Two Challenges

Happy New Year (again) to everyone. I made this card for two challenges...CardzTV/Cricut Cardz Challenge "Welcome 2012!" (Make a "Happy New Year" card using any colors or cartridges you 'd like) and More Than Favors Wacky Wednesday Sketch.

I don't think this is my "typical" card, but I like the way it turned out. I used the negative area of the Spellbinders...I can use the cutout part on another project later. I haven't used my decorative scissors in a long time, but they gave me just the right decorative edges that I needed. After I cut them out in white paper, I used the silver pigment ink to give it a little bit of a different texture. I used the mounting tape on the "frame" and the ribbon.

Graduation Card

My son asked me to make a graduation card for a friend of his that is graduating from college. I haven't made a Spinner Card is awhile, and I thought this would be a fun.

Trying To Get Back In The Swing Of Things...Two Challenges

Well, I am trying to get back to crafting after it feels like forever....I made a card for two different challenges. The first one is The Paper Variety (Create a project using Black and White with a Kiss of Color (any color)). The second challenge is Die Cuttin' Diva's (sketch).

I really like the way this turned out. However, with that said, I decided to make another card using the same sketch, but with different papers. Here is that card:

(Instead of Martha Stewart Tinsel Glitter, I used regular clear glitter). Now I also like the way this one turned out. I always think it is so cool how basically the same idea can look so different. What do you think? Which one do you like?

HAPPY NEW YEAR

I can't believe that it's the beginning of a new year...Where the heck did 2011 go? I know most of it went by while I was working...Really felt like I missed the summer and the holiday season. I don't want to feel like that again this year. I haven't had time to make much of anything...so I hope to change that.

Did you make any resolutions? Crafting or otherwise? I usually don't make resolutions, cause I figure they are unrealistic (I just know me too well...lol). However, I am going to try and make more time to craft. The first problem is that I have to get organized ...once again. I am motivated a little more since I want to try out the Expression 2 with the wireless capability. (I've actually had the Expression 2 since, well, before Thanksgiving (it's still in the box though), but Santa brought me the wireless insert for Christmas...Thank you Santa!)
