Nuts 4 U

Quick post tonight...

I made this card for three challenges: Bitten By The Bug 2 Number Challenge, Celebrate the Occasion "Any Occasion (must use Polka Dots)"!!! and Die Cuttin' Diva's Squirrels. I like the way this turned out...I hope you do too.

Finished Card: 4 1/4" x 5 1/2"

Cardstock: White, Red, Black, Two Shades Brown, Gray and Patterned Paper
Cricut Cartridge Stretch Your Imagination Squirrel, page 46 (Base Shift, Layers Shift and Shadow Shift)
Cricut Cartridge George and Basic Shapes "4", page 85 (Shadow Base)
Cricut Cartridge Old West "N", "U", "T" and "S", various pages
Cricut Design Studio
Black Chalk
Small Heart Punch
Mounting Tape

I mounted the Squirrel and Nuts and the "4". "Nuts" was welded together in Design Studio. I chalked the Squirrel, the acorn caps and the "4" for a little more dimension.

Fantabulous Cricut Challenge "Melon Time"

This week at Fantabulous Cricut, the challenge was "Melon Time" (Make a project with fruit or a melon on it).  I made an invitation with some napkin holders.

Finished Card: 4 1/4" x 5 1/2"

Materials:
Cardstock: White, Green, Red, Black and Green Checked Patterned Paper
Cricut Cartridge Stretch Your Imagination Watermelon, page 34 (Base, Layers Base and Blackout Base)
Cut at 3 1/2" for Invitation and 2" for Napkin Rings
1/2" wide Green cardstock strips for Rings (Adjust length for size of napkins)
Cricut Design Studio (To cut multiple melons at the same time)
Glossy Accents (on seeds)
Green Ribbon
White Pigment Ink (to make the "Rind' on Melon)
EK Success Scallop Circle Punch (for "teeth" marks)
Computer Sentiment
Mounting Tape

Fairly easy project so you can make several invitations and napkin rings without too much trouble. I wish the photos showed how shiny the seeds look from the Glossy Accents. I even added it to the small melons. For another idea, you could change the sentiments and make this into a "Thank You" Card...quick and easy.

Haven't been around cause things are still crazy around here...I was hoping it would be back to normal by now. I thought my hours were going to change at work, however, they haven't as of yet. We'll see when it happens.

Just so you know, two of my sons are trying to kill me (lol)...My youngest bought a motorcycle (yikes) AND on the same week,  my youngest and my middle sons went skydiving (double yikes). I could never do it!!!

Proof that they made it back safe.

The garden is thriving...tomatoes of every size, cucumbers, peppers, and string beans. I did finally get all my flowers planted (only took 2 months longer than expected). Now I just hope that the heat wave we are in right now doesn't kill them.

I have felt that my creative juices were on vacation for quite a while also. (Too bad that they didn't take me as well). However, I am seeing glimmers that they are returning...so thank you for being patient.

Wedding Wishes

This week at Fantabulous Cricut the challenge was "Wedding Wishes" (to make a project with the color white and a bell on it). I made a card:

I feel as though the photo does not do justice to the card ( I guess because of the white on white). There is glitter on the bell and the word "love".  The vellum is in the opening behind the bell. You could actually use this as a wedding or an anniversary card.

To keep you updated, work is still pretty busy...although I think that will be ending by the end of the month. We painted the one bedroom on Saturday, so the bedroom switch is moving along...thank goodness. I can't wait to get my house back in order. Maybe then I can start on cleaning up my craft area? hahaha (That would take a miracle!)

I harvested some vegetables this past week...lettuce, radishes, onions, and string beans...yum! I have some green tomatoes on the vine and a few hot peppers. Still have to get some flowers planted.

Baby Card

(Side note...I went back to the old computer so I could post this...lol...not sure when I'll get the printer etc. hooked up on the new computer...read the earlier post today in order to understand this note...lol)

I feel like I haven't created a card in quite awhile...oh wait, I haven't...lol. It felt good to get back to it.

I thought that I would enter this card in four (4) different challenges...Two Scraptastic Gals (Use Stretch Your Imagination Cartridge), Scrappy Moms Stamps (Use B is for Boy/Sugar and Spice Cartridge or a similar cartridge), Die Cuttin' Diva's (Baby Love) and Cricut Cardz Challenge (Make a Tall Card 9" x 4").

and the inside:

I don't own either B is for Boys or Sugar and Spice Cartridges, but Sugar and Spice has a baby carriage image in it, so I thought that this would work.

I hope that you noticed that I purposely centered "Angel" with the carriage. I didn't put any sentiment in the inside because I thought you could use this as a "Congratulations" card or as an announcement. Since it is
9" x 4", you can use regular business envelopes.
