Get Messy Birthday Card
Pin It
Birthday Sundaes has a challenge this week called "Get Messy Birthday Card" (use lots of inking, paints or mists).
Here is my card:
Finished Card: 4 1/4" x 5 1/2"
Materials:
Cardstock: White and Orange/Yellow
Inkadinkado Clear Stamps, Birthday Cupcake (Large Cupcake and "Sweet Birthday Wishes")
StazOn Jet Black Ink
Sugarloaf Whispers Strokes Markers
Cuttlebug Embossing Folder Happy Birthday
Five Different Colors of Pigment Inks
Spellbinders Nestabilities Standard Circle Large, 3rd Largest
Spellbinders Nestabilities Labels Five, 3rd Largest
Ribbon
Mounting Tape
Sponge
Water Mister
First, I embossed some white card stock, then wiped the pigment inks all over. Next, I misted it with a little water. Then, I took the sponge (I used a make-up wedge) and wiped over the ink in a circular motion. Let dry. I cut out the Labels Five shape and used the same technique on that. I stamped the cupcake with StazOn Ink and colored that with the Sugarloaf Markers. I fussy cut the cupcake. Cut the large rectangle and circle, then I assembled everything together.
I had fun with trying something different...and this is why I love challenges! Don't be afraid to experiment...what's the worst that can happen? You throw out the paper and start again! However, you just might make a masterpiece...lol. (Now if I would only take my own advice and try vinyl...hahaha...someday!).
Thanks for stopping by...I would love to hear from you.

CardzTV DT Challenge #6 "Anything Goes!"
This challenge at CardzTV is "Anything Goes!" Now I don't know about anyone else, but sometimes I find this type of challenge the hardest. Too many directions that you can go...
Here is what I came up with:
Finished Card: 4 1/4" x 5 1/2"
Materials:
Cardstock: White and Purple
Inkadinkado Clear Stamps, Doodle Flowers "Tulip"
CardzTV with Mary Clear Stamps, Think Spring, "Friends are Flowers in the Garden of Life"
Sugarloaf Whispers Strokes Markers
Spellbinders Nestabilities Labels Two, Largest
Cuttlebug Embossing Folder Herringbone
Black Pigment Ink
StazOn Jet Black Ink
Purple Ribbon
4 Small Purple Buttons
Mounting Tape
I stamped the tulip 3 times and added the grass at the bottom. Don't you think it came out nice?
I needed a birthday card, so I decided to stamp "Happy Birthday" from the CardzTV with Mary Clear Stamps "Ticket Talk" Set on the inside of the card underneath "in the garden of life". Also, don't forget that Mary is giving away a set of stamps on her blog (Click here).
Thanks for stopping by...

Animals can really be a big part of your life. I don't know what I would do without my babies. And although I don't feel as though you can ever replace the loss of one, I feel that you can make more room in your heart to love another.
My sister-in-law sent this to my other sister-in-law via Facebook, and I would like to share it with you...
I think I'll give my sweethearts a big hug right now....Have a great rest of the day...Thanks for stopping by! (Leave a comment)

Center Step Birthday Card
Pin It
At Birthday Sundaes the challenge is to make a Step Card with a Birthday Sentiment. I have never made one of these before. I checked out the tutorials they listed at Birthday Sundaes and decided to try the Center Step Card...although I did change the measurements so I would make a 4 1/4" x 5 1/2" card.
The inside:
Finished Card: 4 1/4" x 5 1/2"
Materials:
Cardstock: White, Pink, Brown and Patterned Paper
Cricut Cartridge Everyday Pop-Up Cards Cake, page 64 (Base, Layer 1 Base and Layer 1 Shift)
Studio G Clear Stamps "Celebrate" and "Happy Birthday"
Cuttlebug Embossing Folder D'Vine Swirls
Sugarloaf Whispers Strokes Markers, Yellow and Orange
Sprectrum Noir Markers, 2 Shades of Blue
Black Pigment Ink
Glue Dots
Mounting Tape
2 Flower Buttons, Pink
Pink Sheer Ribbon
I really like the way this turned out and I plan on making more of these types of cards. You should try one sometime.
I haven't been around on my blog lately. Haven't had much mojo since my son's accident last week. Also I've been very busy with getting my taxes completed and my granddaughter being over. I'm hoping my mojo is back...

The Winner Is....
First, I want to apologize because I wanted to post this yesterday. However, on Sunday my youngest son was in an car accident. He is fine...thank goodness...however, the Explorer is not. Just haven't been in the mood to do much of anything since then...so anyway, with that said, the winner is:
lindagk23 "Your boxes and cards are gorgeous! You did an awesome job designing these boxes! Thanks for sharing!"
Congratulations! I will contact you via e-mail to get your address.
Thanks.

CardzTV Stamps Design Team "I {Heart} U" Blog Hop (Feb 11th and 12th)
I know it's a few days away yet, but Happy Valentine's Day!
However right now, it's Blog Hop time here with the CardzTV Stamps Design Team...woo hoo! It's called "I {Heart} U" (Make a Valentine's Day Project). You should have come from Little Scrap Pieces with Karen; if so, then you are in the right place. If you just happen to stop by, thank you, but you might want to start at the beginning of the hop so you don't miss any of the great projects (and maybe some blog candy) from the other designers.
Every year I give something to my family for Valentine's Day. This year, I made a box to hold a Valentine's treat (M & M's) and a matching card. Well, actually I made 6 of them (lol). I do want to tell you first that I designed the box myself with Design Studio and George and Basic Shapes. I am so proud of that!
Here are all 6 of projects together:
In sets of 3:
A close-up of just one of them:
And with the card opened:
Finished Boxes: 2 1/4" x 2 1/4" x 4 1/2" (not including the tulle bow)
Materials:
Cardstock: Pink (for the one box) and 5 Different Double-sided Patterned Cardstock (for the other 5 boxes)
Cricut Cartridge George and Basic Shapes
Cricut Cartridge Tags, Bags, Boxes and More Heart, page 108 (Blackout)
Cricut Design Studio
CardzTV with Mary Clear Stamps Be My Valentine, (Heart) and "Be My Valentine"
Marking Memories Scrapbook Embellishment Storage Jars
Martha Stewart Edger Doily Lace Punch
Clear Plastic (for window in box)
Mounting Tape
Red Tulle
Red, Pink and White Curling Ribbon
White Elastic (to tie the card onto the box)
Red and Black Pigment Ink
M & M's
First, I put the candy in the jars:
Then I designed a box on Design Studio so that the jars would fit just right:
After scoring and folding, I cut a piece of clear plastic to fit over the window and glued it in place. I glued the box together, only gluing the long side (the top and bottom are not glued):
Next, I put the jar in the box. This is the pink box that I stamped with CardzTV heart stamp:
I made a card for each box using matching paper. The cards are cut 2 1/4" x 4". Fold in half, then punch the one side with the doily lace edger punch. The hearts are from TBBM and cut at 1 1/2" and 1 3/4" (I think. It could be 1 1/4" and 1 1/2" I don't remember the exact measurements for them...sorry). There is no shadow feature, so that's why I cut the white hearts 1/4" bigger. Glue the hearts together, then I used mounting tape to adhere them to the front of the card. This way they pop up a little and give some dimension. (it may be hard to see that in the photos). I then stamped "Be My Valentine" on the inside of the cards.
I will be entering this project into the following challenges: Fantabulous Cricut (Love is in the Air (Include a heart), The Cuttlebug Spot (Create something with hearts and a stamp), Scrappy Moms Stamps Hearts Galore (Hearts as the main element) and My Craft Spot Valentines! (Valentine Card or Treat Packaging).

Ok so now it's time for the Blog Candy (Yippeee!)
This is what I am giving away: A Clear Stamping Block, Four Sets of Clear Stamps (Valentine's Day, St Patty's Day, Easter and Spring), A Pack of Rhinestones, A Pack of Pearls and A Couple of Pages of Stickers (Valentine's and St Patty's).
In order to win my blog candy, you need to 1. Be a follower, 2. Leave a comment on THIS post and 3. Leave me a way to contact you (just in case you win)...I will pick a winner on Monday, Feb 13th...Good Luck.

Valentine Card with Tag and A Little More...
Bitten By The Bug 2 has a challenge to use any of the tags in the Sweetheart Cartridge. Well, I don't own that cartridge, so I found one on the Tags, Bags, Boxes and More Cartridge.
I made this card:
The tag has a pocket on it and inside holds a little extra...
Finished Card: 4 1/4" x 5 1/2"
Materials:
Cardstock: Shiny Pink, Red and Patterned Paper
Cricut Cartridge Tags, Bags, Boxes and More Tritop-h, page 87 (Shift) and Crctp2, page 95 (Blackout)
Cricut Design Studio
CardzTV with Mary clear Stamps Ticket Talk, "Ticket", "Happy Valentine's Day", "Good For One Kiss" and "Good For One Hug"
Martha Stewart Edger Doily Lace Punch
Nicole Glitter Foam Stickers Hearts, 2 Large and 1 Small
Queen and Co Pearls, Pearl 2 Large and 2 Medium
White Ribbon
Thin White Ribbon
Thin Pink Ribbon
Black Pigment Ink
White Pigment Ink
Red Pigment Ink
Mounting Tape
The tag is cut at 3" x 7 1/2", then scored at 3" and folded up. I punched the top edge, then glued the sides to make a pocket. I cut out two red hearts the same side as the large glitter hearts. I adhered the glitter hearts at the top of the "tickets" and the red hearts on the back.
Hope you like this project. Thanks for stopping by.

Valentine Card
I wanted to share a card that my two year old granddaughter and I made for her Daddy.
And the inside:
Finished Card: 4 1/4" x 5 1/2"
Materials:
Cardstock: White, Red and Patterned Paper
CardzTV with Mary Clear Stamps Be My Valentine, "Happy Valentine's Day!" and Ticket Talk, "I Love You!"
Nicole Valentine Stickers
Red Pigment Ink
Mounting Tape
Gianna (my granddaughter) picked out all the stickers and stuck them where she wanted on the card. I think it turned out really cute, (but I may be a little biased). What do you think?
Thanks.

Sketch...Die Cuttin' Diva's
At Die Cuttin' Diva's this week, the challenge is a sketch.
This is my card:
Here is the sketch:
Finished Card: 4 1/4" x 5 1/2"
Materials:
Cardstock: White, Green and 2 Different Patterned Papers
Inkadinkado Clear Stamps Doodle Flowers
Sugarfloaf Whispers Strokes Markers
StazOn Jet Black Ink
Spellbinders Nestabilities Labels Five, Largest
EKS Border Punch Scallop Diamond
Cuttlebug Embossing Folder Herringbone
Queen and Co Pearls, Grass Green 2 Small and 2 Large
Green Ribbon
Mounting Tape
I stamped the tulip image three times, colored and then cut it out. I single mounted the tulips on the Nestabilities cut (which is the same paper as the largest background). The "grass" at the bottom is double mounted. No sentiment as of yet. I figure I could use it for a variety of occasions...Birthday, Anniversary, Mother's Day, Thinking of you, Get well or even a Just Because.
Been playing with the markers lately, but I need to get back to the Cricut...I know it misses me...lol. It's fun to "play" with other tools that we seem to forget. Maybe there is something that you have not used in awhile? Think about it...I would love to hear what it is. Leave me a comment.

Birthday Card...Celebrating Dog
I bought these teacher's supply stickers at work the other day...discounted ( I love that!) and the card just seemed to make itself.
Here's another angle so (hopefully) you can see the dimension on the sentiment and the horn:
Finished Card: 4 1/4" x 5 1/2"
Materials:
Cardstock: White, Yellow, Red and Blue
Teacher's Supply Stickers, Happy Birthday Dog, 2 of them
Cuttlebug Embossing Folder D'Vine Swirls
Cuttlebug Embossing Folder Candy Cane Stripe
Nicole Stickers Confetti
Mounting Tape
I cut out the sentiment and single mounted it over the original. I then cut out the horn and mounted it with a single piece near the mouth and a double piece at the end so it would look like it was sticking out further. Quick and easy card. I have more of these stickers (they came in a pack) and I have a few other ideas for them.
I am submitting this into the Birthday Sundaes and Celebrate the Occasion challenges this week.
Thanks for stopping by.

Happy Birthday Flowers
The Paper Players challenge this week is "Nance's Theme Challenge: Flowers" (Floral image on your card).
I've been playing around with markers and I came up with this card:
Finished Card: 4 1/4" x 5 1/2"
Materials:
Cardstock: White, Purple and Patterned Paper
Inkadinkado Clear Stamps Flowers, Daisy, Stem and Butterfly
StazOn Jet Black Ink
CardzTV with Mary Clear Stamps, Make a Wish "Happy Birthday!"
White Pigment Ink
Sugarloaf Whispers Strokes Markers
Queen and Co. Pearls, Lavender 3 Large
Martha Stewart Garden Trellis Deep Edge Punch

I double mounted the flowers and single mounted the sentiment and the butterfly...you can't really see the dimension from the photo. Thought it was a fun, colorful birthday card. Hope you like it.

CardzTV Design Team Challenge #5 "Tickled Pink"
With this challenge at CardzTV, we were asked to make a project that had pink as the primary color.
Here is the card that I made:
Finished Card: 4 1/2" x 5 1/2"
Materials:
Cardstock: Three Shades of Pink, Black, Red and Patterned Paper
Cricut Cartridge Simply Charmed Lovebug 2, page 31 (Shift, Layer 1 Shift, Layer 2 Shift and Layer 4 Shift)
CardzTV with Mary Clear Stamps, Be My Valentine "Happy Valentine's Day!"
Martha Stewart Double Loops Set, Corner Only
Queen and Co Pearls, Nightfall, 2 Small and Orchid, 5 Small
Mounting Tape
This was one of those projects that started out one way and then ended up another. The only thing that remained constant was the color pink. First, I cut out hearts with my Sizzix, then I used Cricut Design Studio and had different hearts on there, different papers, stamped on separate paper, then same paper and then finally, I saw the Lovebug 2 in Simply Charmed and everything seemed to come together...with a tweak or two. (lol) I like the way it finally turned out. How about you?
Don't forget, Mary at CardzTV is giving away a stamp set, so make sure you make a Tickled Pink project and submit it. These stamps are great to work with. Check out the other designer's projects too.
Thanks for stopping by...let me know what you think!

Ladybug Hugs and Daisy Kisses
Pin It
If you saw yesterday's post, you know I bought some new stamps (for practically nothing!). I "colored" another daisy (like the one yesterday, but with different colors). I was looking for some kind of paper to coordinate with it..and well it just came together so quickly...I LOVE it when that happens!
Here is my card:
Finished Card: 4 1/4" x 5 1/2"
Materials:
Cardstock: White, Dark Red and Patterned Paper
Inkadinkado Clear Stamps Doodle Flowers
CardzTV with Mary Clear Stamps, Think Spring "Ladybug Hugs and Daisy Kisses"
Queen and Co Pearls, Classy Red, 1Large and Berry Red, 1 Large, 1 Medium and 1 Small
Small Circle Punch
Mounting Tape
I mounted the Daisy and the Ladybug (although I think it is hard to tell in the picture).
I am entering this into two challenges: The Craft Spot (Anything Goes) and Die Cuttin' Diva's (Anything Goes). Wish me luck! Let me know what you think...
