Digi Haven Challenge "Spring"

Spring is here...well, at least according to the calendar...

This is what mother nature had in mind for us on Monday:

(my poor flowers)

But here at Digi Haven, it's Spring! That is the challenge this week...Spring. Our sponsor is My Grafico and the design team all used bits from the Happy Bugs Stamps Set. The challenge will last for 2 weeks and the winner will receive 1 stamp set from our sponsor. So nice, huh?

Here is my project:

Finished Card: 4 1/4" x 5 1/2"

Materials:
Cardstock: White, Lavender, and Mint
My Grafico Happy Bugs Stamp Set, Ant
Spectrum Noir Markers
CardzTV with Mary Clear Stamps Think Spring, "Think Spring!"
Lavender Pigment Ink
Cuttlebug Embossing Folder Floral Fantasy
Floral Ribbon
Queen and Co Pearls, Brilliant Blue 2 Small; Grass Green 2 Small; Nightfall 2 Small and Orchid 2 Small
Mounting Tape

These little guys are so cute...however, in real life, I absolutely hate ants (when they are in my house! How about you? Can you tell that I have had a problem with them?) Now it's hard to tell, but the ant image is single mounted.

Glad you stopped by. Don't forget to check out the other designer's creations...they are always so awesome! Join in and maybe you'll win a new stamp set.

Leave me a comment please. (I love to read them).

Have a great day!

CardzTV with Mary Stamps Challenge # 8 "Color Me a Rainbow" Day 1 April Showers

This is the first day of the CardzTV with Mary Stamps Challenge "Color Me A Rainbow!" (Use the colors of the rainbow...pink, blue, yellow and green only...you can use a small amount of white and black also). Here is an Easel card that I made. I have only ever made a handful of them. Hope you like it.

Finished Card (when closed): 4 1/4" x 5 1/2"

Materials:
Card stock: White (for the base), Blue, Blue Patterned, Pink and Yellow Patterned, Green and Green Patterned
Cricut Cartridge Everyday Pop-Up Cards Umbrella, page 36 (Pop-Up Base)
CardzTV with Mary Clear Stamps Think Spring "How does your garden grow?" and "Friends are the flowers in the garden of life"
StazOn Jet Black Ink
Inkssentials Glossy Accents
Jolee's Boutique Stickers Vellum Tulips
Sugarloaf Whipsers Strokes Marker (Pink and Tan)
Mounting Tape

The base of the card is 5 1/2" x 8 1/2". I scored it in the middle at 4 1/4" and then half of that at 2 1/8". I cut the umbrella out at 6" twice (once in white and once in patterned paper). I cut off all the tabs on the patterned piece, colored the umbrella handle tan, then glued the top to the white base.  It's hard to see but I added stitch lines with the tan marker to the umbrella also. I glued the blue patterned paper to a separate piece of white card stock (cut at 4 1/4" x 5 1/2"). Next, I added the popped-up umbrella (the tab from the handle goes under to the back of the separate white base). I added the Glossy Accents to the blue background and the umbrella. After it was dry, I single mounted the sentiment. I glued green patterned paper to the "inside" of the base card, added the mounted sentiment and then adhered the tulips. Finally I glued a piece of blue card stock to the back of the umbrella piece and then glued it to the easel base. Now I will confess, that before I added the blue card stock to the back, I started to glue it to the easel base but realized that I only have to glue half of it to fit on there. So that's why I added the blue card stock. Mistakes? There are NO mistakes...just lessons learned!) lol

Mary at CardzTV is giving away one of her stamp sets (your choice) to the winner of the challenge. The Challenge runs April 20, 21 and 22. Check out all the other projects also.

I am entering this card into several other challenges:

My Cuttlebug Spot, Make an Easel Card
Made Especially for You, Use 3 Flowers
My Craft Spot "Make It Pop!" (Use dimension)
Fantabulous Cricut "April Showers" (Use an umbrella, rain or clouds)

Thanks for stopping by today. (Leave a comment). Don't forget to drop by on Sat and Sun too. I have two more cards.

April Showers Bring Spring Flowers

The weather is starting to get nicer. (Tomorrow is really suppose to be warm around here). Spring is bursting out all over with the flowers blooming. I already bought quite a few hanging plants for the yard. Simon Says has a challenge "April Showers Bring Spring Flowers". Perfect timing...

Here is my card:

Finished Card: 4 1/4 x 5 1/2"

Materials:
Cardstock: Blue, Purple and White.
Scrap Happy Paper Crafter Free Digital Image
Spectrum Noir Markers
CardzTV with Mary Clear Stamps Think Spring "Butterfly Kisses"
Nicole Ultra Fine Premium Glitter Extra Fine Multi Diamond Dust
Queen and Co Pearls Grass Green 2 Large
Mounting Tape

I hope you can see the spots of glitter that I used on the flowers and not just on the butterfly. I also colored the background with a marker so there would be no white cardstock showing. This card could be used for a number of occasions, don't you think? Mother's Day, a feminine birthday, "Thinking of you" or even "Get Well".

I'm glad you stopped by ( I love having visitors).

A quick note...my son was taking his daughter, Gianna, 2, out and as they walked to the car, Gianna says, "Daddy, You drive. I can't drive. I'm too little." Out of the mouths of babes....

"Let's Get Sketchy" CardzTV DT Challenge #7

This challenge we have a sketch for inspiration. Mary at CardzTV thought this would be fun, since we haven't done one of those until now.

This is my card:

This is the sketch we had to use:

Finished Card: 4 1/4" x 5 1/2"

Materials:
Cardstock: White, Yellow, Green and Patterned Paper
Chubby Chicks Digital Stamps Birdie Brown
CardzTV with Mary Clear Stamps Think Spring, "Friends are flowers in the garden of life"
Sizzix Sizzlits Die Fence, Picket
Martha Stewart Double-Edge Punch Cherry Blossom Trim
Spectrum Noir Markers
LaPlumme II Marker, Black
StazOn Black Ink
Mounting Tape

I used a yellow Spectrum marker to give some depth to the flowers on the side and outlined them with a black LaPlumme marker. I punched out green dots and taped them to the back of the middle of the flowers. I die cut the fence twice, cut the end post off on one side of each fence, then glued them together to make one longer fence. Although it doesn't show in the photo, the fence is bowed in the middle for depth.

I think these "chubby chicks" are cute. Don't you?

Mary at CardzTV  is giving away a set of stamps to the winner of the challenge. So, hop on over there and enter.

Thanks for stopping by...I would love to hear from you (leave a comment).

CardzTV DT Challenge #6 "Anything Goes!"

This challenge at CardzTV is "Anything Goes!" Now I don't know about anyone else, but sometimes I find this type of challenge the hardest. Too many directions that you can go...

Here is what I came up with:

Finished Card: 4 1/4" x 5 1/2"

Materials:
Cardstock: White and Purple
Inkadinkado Clear Stamps, Doodle Flowers "Tulip"
CardzTV with Mary Clear Stamps, Think Spring, "Friends are Flowers in the Garden of Life"
Sugarloaf Whispers Strokes Markers
Spellbinders Nestabilities Labels Two, Largest
Cuttlebug Embossing Folder Herringbone
Black Pigment Ink
StazOn Jet Black Ink
Purple Ribbon
4 Small Purple Buttons
Mounting Tape

I stamped the tulip 3 times and added the grass at the bottom. Don't you think it came out nice?

I needed a birthday card, so I decided to stamp "Happy Birthday" from the CardzTV with Mary Clear Stamps "Ticket Talk" Set on the inside of the card underneath "in the garden of life". Also, don't forget that Mary is giving away a set of stamps on her blog (Click here).

Thanks for stopping by...

Ladybug Hugs and Daisy Kisses

If you saw yesterday's post, you know I bought some new stamps (for practically nothing!). I "colored" another daisy (like the one yesterday, but with different colors). I was looking for some kind of paper to coordinate with it..and well it just came together so quickly...I LOVE it when that happens!

Here is my card:

Finished Card: 4 1/4" x 5 1/2"

Materials:
Cardstock: White, Dark Red and Patterned Paper
Inkadinkado Clear Stamps Doodle Flowers
CardzTV with Mary Clear Stamps, Think Spring "Ladybug Hugs and Daisy Kisses"
Queen and Co Pearls, Classy Red, 1Large and Berry Red, 1 Large, 1 Medium and 1 Small
Small Circle Punch
Mounting Tape

I mounted the Daisy and the Ladybug (although I think it is hard to tell in the picture).

I am entering this into two challenges: The Craft Spot (Anything Goes) and Die Cuttin' Diva's (Anything Goes). Wish me luck! Let me know what you think...
