The three challenges I am submitting my card in are: CropStop "Go For The Gold!" (Use gold on your project), Birthday Sundaes (Make a birthday card with the sentiment on the front) and Fantabulous Cricut "Warming Up With Hot Cocoa" (Use a cup or chocolate or even the color brown on your project). My "Plus" is my own challenge. Sometimes I feel like I use the same Cricut cartridges, so I asked my son to pick a number to coordinate with one of my Cricut cartridges. It ended up being "Happy Graduation". I looked over all the images and thought that this might be hard to find something for a birthday theme..then I found it....
Here is my card:
and the inside:
Finished Card: 4 1/4" x 5 1/2"
Materials:
Cardstock: White, Brown, Shiny Gold, Pink and Patterned Paper
Cricut Cartridge Happy Graduation, Star Button 39
Queen and Co Pearls Sunflower Yellow, 1 Large, 1 Medium and 6 Small
Studio G Clear Stamp "Happy birthday"
Computer Sentiment (inside)
Brown Pigment Ink
Mounting tape
As you can see, I picked the big star image. The gold star is SO shiny that when you look at it, you will see your own image. Now you understand the sentiment inside. (I thought it was a cute idea).
I think I may try this a lot more by asking one of my boys to pick a number and play this challenge again. Maybe I'll find some new images that I didn't know I had. You should try it...it was really fun.
Thanks for stopping by...let me know if you give it a try.
imagine what you could do....
Nicely done. I like how you had your son pick a number. I need to give that a try too and see if I can come up with a cart I haven't used in quite some time. I bet you could even do a certain page number. Oooh, let's try that!

love your card! the star is beautiful!!
ReplyDeletein response to your question....I LOVE my copics and when I started I took a beginning copic class at my local stamping store. At the end of the class I asked the instructor for the best colors to start with....this is what she recommended
BV00,BV02 (purple)
R11,R81,R85, R29 (pink/red)
G40,G82,G24(green)
B0000,B12,B14(blue)
E30,E33,E35,E37, (brown)
E000,E00,E02 (skin tone)
C1 (grey)
Y21,Y17 (yellow)
I know this is alot...but the skin tones and at least two in each color group is enough to color tons with blending...oh yeah and a colorless blender for mistakes and blending.
I hope this helps....any more questions shoot me an email :)

What a great idea. I really should impose that same challenge on myself. I still have some cartridges that I haven't used. And you did a wonderful job incorporating an image from this cartridge into a birthday card. Thanks for sharing with Birthday Sundaes.
