Friends Furever

On my earlier post today, I said that I was going to try heat embossing with VersaMark. Well, that's what I did with this card.

Finished Card: 41/4" x 5 1/2"

Materials:
Cardstock: White and Patterned Paper
Melonheadz Illustrating Digital Image (Two Separate Images)
Spectrum Noir Markers
Cardz TV with Mary Clear Stamps Barks and Bones "Friends Furever"
VersaMark Watermark Stamp Pad
Black Embossing Powder
Queen and Co Pearls Nightfall, 2 Large
Mounting Tape

I saw these images and immediately thought of my granddaughter, Gianna and my dog, Cobi. I HAD to put them together!! I don't think you can see it in the photo, but "Cobi" is single mounted to give it a little more depth. (Looks much better in person!) The "Friends Furever" is heat embossed and I must say, I really really like the way it turned out. Guess I'll be using this technique in the future.

Thanks for stopping by.

I'm All Ears!

I made a card that I am entering into Carson's Creations Embossing Blog Hop Challenge. I hope you like it.

Finished Card: 4 1/2" x 5 1/2"

Materials:
Cardstock: White, Green and Light Pink
Free Vintage Digital Stamps Image
Spectrum Noir Markers
CardzTV with Mary Clear Stamps, Easter Punnies "I'm All Ears!"
Cuttlebug Embossing Folder from the Simply Charmed 4 Pack Set
Queen and Co Pearls, Pearl 6 Small
Mounting Tape

I made the card...then there was something I didn't like about it. So I ripped it apart. I made it a second time and again there was something I didn't like. So I ripped that part off. This didn't happen twice, or three times but this is actually the fourth version. (Did someone say "perfectionist"?...nah, couldn't be me!) lol

I do LOVE those bunnies though! Don't you?

This Hop is all about embossing...heat and dry. I really like dry embossing, but never have had a lot of luck (at least to my satisfaction...oh, there's that perfectionist thing again...no, really it CAN"T be me! lol) with heat embossing. I did read that several of the designers that did the heat embossing used VersaMark to stamp with. I have used VersaMark before, but never for embossing. So, thank you for inspiring me to try something new. Keep checking my blog for future posts and see how I do.

Thanks for stopping by.

Thank You...Yellow Rose

This week's challenge at Celebrate The Occasion  is a "Thank You" Card.

Finished Card: 4 1/4" x 5 1/2"

Materials:
Cardstock: White, Black and Patterned Paper
Inkadinkado Doodle Flowers Rose
StazOn Jet Black Ink
sugarloaf Whispers Strokes Markers
CardzTV with Mary Clear Stamps Ticket Talk "Thank You!"
EK Success Corner Basketweave Punch
Queen and Co Pearls Nightfall 2 Large 2 Small
Black Ribbon

I actually made this card last month (but never posted it) when I first started playing around with stamping and coloring. (I'm definitely hooked now). I really like the way it turned out.  It reminds me of my mother. My mother told me that the day I was born, a white rose bloomed in our yard. So she always referred to a white rose as the "Dana Rose". Yea I know, this rose is yellow...well, her favorite color was yellow. So now you understand why it reminds me of her. (I miss her so much...it's been 20 years). (Oh my, where did the time go?)

Thanks for stopping by.

Happy Birthday Jason

Today is my middle son's birthday. Happy Birthday Sweetheart! I made a card that is especially for him.

Here it is:

Finished Card: 4 1/4"x 5 1/2"

Materials:
Cardstock: White, Gray and Patterned Paper
Lolla Polooza Digital Images
Spectrum Noir Markers
Computer Generated Sentiment "Happy Birthday To Our "Happy Feet""
Homemade "Action Wobble"

This is the first card that I have ever used a card with "action". I made my own "Action Wobble" with wire, glue dots and paper. (You can find directions on the internet). My son loves "Happy Feet" (He asked for "Happy Feet 2" for a gift), so I thought he would get a kick out of this. It makes me smile every time I jiggle it.

I am entering this into two challenges : The Cuttlebug Spot (card for a child with an animal) and Scrappy Moms Stamps Terrific Tuesday Challenge  (make it SHAKE).

Hope you like my card. Happy birthday Jason!!!!
