Happy New Year Card...Two Challenges

2nd post today...

Happy New Year (again) to everyone. I made this card for two challenges...CardzTV/Cricut Cardz Challenge "Welcome 2012!" (Make a "Happy New Year" card using any colors or cartridges you 'd like) and More Than Favors Wacky Wednesday Sketch.

My card:

Finished Card: 4 1/4" x 5 1/2"

Materials:
Cardstock: White, Black, Silver and Patterned Paper
Cricut Cartridge Home Decor, Button 5
CardzTV with Mary Clear Stamps Ticket Talk "Happy New Year!"
Spellbinders Nestabilities Labels Four (Second Largest)
Two Different Decorative Scissors
Making Memories Creative Letters Chunky Asphalt "2", "0", "1" and "2"
Silver Pigment Ink
Black Pigment Ink
Black Ribbon
Mounting Tape

I don't think this is my "typical" card, but I like the way it turned out. I used the negative area of the Spellbinders...I can use the cutout part on another project later. I haven't used my decorative scissors in a long time, but they gave me just the right decorative edges that I needed. After I cut them out in white paper, I used the silver pigment ink to give it a little bit of a different texture. I used the mounting tape on the "frame" and the ribbon.

Thanks for stopping by...I hope you liked my Happy New Year card. I would love to hear what you think ...leave me a comment. Have a great day...

imagine what you could do...

  2. Fantastic card. I love how you used the negative. So many times we throw those away when they can be made into another creation. Thanks for sharing with us at Cricut Cardz.

  3. I think it's always awesome to find uses for our negative cuts, mine usually get thrown away, so kudos to you!
