CardzTV Stamp Challenge "Fall-o-ween Fun"

CardzTV 's Challenge this week is "Fall-o-ween Fun". Create a Fall or Halloween project. Doesn't that sound like fun? This challenge runs from Oct 19 through the 25th. And don't forget, Mary is giving away a set of her stamps to the winner...make sure you enter!

Here is my project:

I made some little treat bags for Gianna's preschool class. (I have more of them, I just didn't photograph all of them....lol).

Finished Treat Bag: approximately 3" x 3 3/4"

Materials:
Cardstock: Purple, Light Purple, Orange and Green
Cricut Cartridge Mini Monsters Jack-O-Lantern, page 59 (Base, Layer 1 Base and Layer 1 Shift)
CardzTV with Mary Clear Stamps Oct 31st, "Halloween Greetings for Happy Trick or Treating!"
White Pigment Ink
Cuttlebug Embossing Folder Spiderweb
Brown Marker (for stem)
White Galaxy Marker (for teeth)
Googly Eyes (two different sizes for each bag)
Lollipop Bag
Stapler
Candy

First, I cut out 3" x 4" rectangles and scored them at 3", to make a fold. I then stamped the sentiment with white pigment ink. I added the candy to the bag, folded it over and stapled the purple rectangle over it. I embossed the small 2" x 2" light purple squares and adhered them in the center of the dark purple. After I colored the teeth in, I assembled the jack-o-lantern, colored the stem, glued the googly eyes on and then glued it down to the light purple square.

Don't you think that Gianna will like them? I do... :)

CardzTV DT Challenge #13: Color Challenge

This is CardzTV with Mary Clear Stamps Challenge and this time, we have a color challenge. Aren't they so much fun...and a lot of freedom. The challenge runs from the 17th until the 23rd and the winner will receive one of Mary's CardzTV stamp sets. Here are the colors: Marigold Yellow, Royal Blue, Rich Purple and Gray (you may use small amounts of Black and White also).

I have a birthday coming up, so I made myself a card. (Can you tell how I am feeling about it?)

Not my usual style card...

I used purple pigment ink on the candelabra and gray on the stand. I thought the candles would stand out more with the Glossy Accents and the flames with glitter.

Guess my mood is also due to work and all the Halloween/Fall merchandise coming in. Add to it that I injured myself (at work)...Popped a rib out of place...I know, You did what? Yep that's what I said, Popped a rib. (I didn't know you could do such a thing!) However, I went to the chiropractor (twice) and he popped it back into place. Who knew?....

Creations With Christina Challenge #4

For Challenge #4, we were asked to create a card with orange, green and purple. Here is what I came up with:

Look out cause #5 is coming up....(hopefully...lol) Oh yea, by now my husband thinks I'm alittle crazy!... he's right!

3D Coffins

I've been dying (ooo, bad pun...lol) to make the 3D projects on Happy Hauntings. Thought these were really neat.

The coffin with the ghost: cut at 6". Finished size...3 1/2" long x 2 1/4" across (from point to point). The coffin with the skull: cut at 4". Finished size...2 3/8" long  x 1 1/2" across.

Materials:
Cricut Cartridge Happy Hauntings 3D Coffin page 72  (Bottom) Shift Base, (Top) Shift Layer 1
Cricut Cartridge Pumpkin Carving  (Spider Web) Button 37
Cricut Cartridge Indie Art (Skull and Bones) Button 1, Base and Shadow Layer

Directions for both coffins:
1. Cut one (1) bottom and one (1) top from Happy Hauntings.
2. Fold and glue tabs.

Embellishing Ghost coffin:
1. Use Design Studio and Pumpkin Carving Cartridge, stretch spiderweb so it will overhang on all sides of coffin. Cut in black cardstock.
2. Glue front of web and flock.
3. Glue web to top of coffin. Cut off excess around edges. Be careful not to cut coffin top.
4. Glue ribbon around edge of top coffin piece.
5. Stick on Ghost.

Embellishing Skull coffin:
1. Use Indie Art Cartridge and cut one (1) base skull in black cardstock and one (1) shadow in orange at 1".
2. Glitter base skull.
3. Take a small scrap piece of black cardstock (larger than the top of the coffin) and emboss with Spiderweb folder. Glue on top piece of coffin and cut off excess cardstock. Be careful not to cut the coffin.
4. Glue ribbon around edge.
5. 3D-Dot the Skull on top of coffin.

Candy (one of my favorite things...yum) fits very well inside. (Snack size for the ghost and actually a third Tootsie Roll Midgees fits, if you turn them just right).

The coffins are easy to make, (it's the embellishing that takes more time...lol) and would make great favors for a party. Hope you have as much fun making them as I did. I would love to see what you create...so enjoy and imagine what you could do...

Flocked Witch Hat

Have you ever started out with one idea but have it warp into something completely different? That's what happened with this one. I had this idea in my head, but as I was putting it together, it just wasn't coming out the way I thought it should. So, I kept changing things and this card was the final result. I am really happy with it. Unfortunately, I never feel that my photos ever do justice to my cards. They look SO much better in person. Do you have this same problem? How did you solve it (if you did)? I would love to know.

To make the card I used:

Cricut Cartridge Happy Hauntings  (Witch Hat page 54, Base, Shift Base, Layer 1 and Shift Layer 1 )

Cardstock: Lime Green, Black, Purple and Yellow/Gold and K & C Company Specialty Paper

1.Base Card is 4 1/4" x 5 1/2" (A2) Lime Green Cardstock. Cut 1/2" off the front edge and punch it with Parisian.
2. Cut a 2" x 5 1/2" piece of lime green cardstock and emboss it with Spiderweb. (Take care of your placement on the folder. I wanted the main part of the web on the left side) Center it on the front of the card and glue it down.
3. Cut two small strips from the patterned paper (approx 1/4" x 5 1/2") and glue them to either side of the spiderweb cardstock.
4. Cut the Witches Hat (in Design Studio stretching it a little) approximately at 3" in black. Spider in black, Band in purple and Buckle in yellow/gold. Make sure the layers all fit properly.
5. Run the hat through the Xyron...upside down. Peel off the hat, then adhere the purple band. Next, mask off the spider, then flock hat. (I hope you can tell in the photo). Unmask the spider and glitter it with the black glitter. Also glitter the buckle with some clear/multicolored glitter, then glue the buckle to the hat. Use 3D-Dots, place the hat on the front of the card, making sure that the spider looks like it was crawling off the center of the web.

For the inside of the card:
1.Glue the Base Shift spider in the corner.
2. Cut a piece of patterned paper (1 3/4" x 5 1/2"), punch the top edge with Parsian, then glue it down.

I still want to stamp "Trick or Treat" or "Happy Halloween" on the inside; however, I do not have either sentiment in a stamp form. (So, off to the store I will go today. Again, I have this specific vision...lol)

For the longest time, I saw the flocking powder in the store and thought " What would you ever use that for?" Then, that lightbulb went off in my head. So I purchased it and well, I love the way it looks.  I have a few more ideas using it, so expect to see it again in some upcoming projects.
