Time for another challenge here at Digi Haven. This week's cool challenge is "Winter/Snow." We are kindly sponsored by Dilly Beans Stamps. The winner will receive 3 images from Dilly Beans. (That is just so generous...wish I could play along, so I could win...lol). Challenge will run until Jan 31st.
I actually made two (2) cards. Here is the first:
and the second card:
Finished Cards: 4 1/4" x 5 1/2"
Materials:
Cardstock: (1st) White, Pine Green, Light Blue and Patterned
(2nd) White, Bright Pink and Patterned
Dilly Bean Stamps Digital Image #494 Penguin Framed
Spectrum Noir Markers
Fiskars Border Punch Snowflake Swirl (2nd card)
Mounting Tape (2nd card)
I just love penguins and I was tickled pink when I was able to use one of Dilly Beans Stamps penguin images. Isn't he just adorable? I thought so...which is why I got carried away making a second card....well, that AND Santa brought me ALL the Spectrum Noir Markers Sets. (Now I have the entire collection! Thank you Santa!) I had been sick (flu AND strep, what a combination, huh?), so I really couldn't wait to play once I was feeling better.
On the first card, I thought the background looked like snow falling. I also decided to have the card open is a different way and no embellishments. I really like the way this turned out...what do you think?
The second card I like because of the bolder colors...something different. The image is single mounted and again no extra embellishments aside form the border punch. Do you like this one?
I hope you decide to join the challenge and don't forget to check out the other designers at Digi Haven. They have some beautiful projects.
Thanks for stopping by. Please leave a comment and let me know what you think. Which card is your favorite?

I love both cards for different reasons. The first is a fancy fold and I love how it's designed. The second has really awesome color combinations in that background paper that really draws my eye to your image. Both Very nicely colored too. Great job! ♥ Denise

Great cards, Dana! Love the image and the way the card opens. It looks wonderful inside and out. Although I think both cards look fab, I'm really liking the first one with the aqua/blue colors. You should enter these in the challenge at DCD this week--it's Use a Penguin!
ReplyDeleteThank you Pat. I did think about it but thought that I couldn't cause I didn't have a die cut on it.

These are both amazing!!! LOVE the fun fold you used on the first one and I adore the non-traditional colors of the second one! HUGS and hope you're having a great weekend! :)
ReplyDeleteYou must have been a very good girl to get the WHOLE collection of Spectrum Noir markers. I got ONE supplemental sets to go with the basics. Well, I must be nicer this year! As for this penguin, well he/she is so cute! I love the close up and personal feel to it! I can see why you wanted to make more than one card using it! I am so glad you shared it at Cupcake Inspirations! It's perfect for this week's challenge! I hope to see more of your creativity in the upcoming challenges!
