Digi Haven Challenge "Spring"

Spring is here...well, at least according to the calendar...

This is what mother nature had in mind for us on Monday:

(my poor flowers)

But here at Digi Haven, it's Spring! That is the challenge this week...Spring. Our sponsor is My Grafico and the design team all used bits from the Happy Bugs Stamps Set. The challenge will last for 2 weeks and the winner will receive 1 stamp set from our sponsor. So nice, huh?

Here is my project:

Finished Card: 4 1/4" x 5 1/2"

Materials:
Cardstock: White, Lavender, and Mint
My Grafico Happy Bugs Stamp Set, Ant
Spectrum Noir Markers
CardzTV with Mary Clear Stamps Think Spring, "Think Spring!"
Lavender Pigment Ink
Cuttlebug Embossing Folder Floral Fantasy
Floral Ribbon
Queen and Co Pearls, Brilliant Blue 2 Small; Grass Green 2 Small; Nightfall 2 Small and Orchid 2 Small
Mounting Tape

These little guys are so cute...however, in real life, I absolutely hate ants (when they are in my house! How about you? Can you tell that I have had a problem with them?) Now it's hard to tell, but the ant image is single mounted.

Glad you stopped by. Don't forget to check out the other designer's creations...they are always so awesome! Join in and maybe you'll win a new stamp set.

Leave me a comment please. (I love to read them).

Have a great day!

Making the "Scallop" Flower

On the post from yesterday, (scroll down to see), I had a flower on top of my cake box. Several people asked for more directions on how to make it. So, I put this together and hope you will be able to follow:

1.  Punch out 9 scallops (I used 9 different colors so you could see where they go).

2. Put one scallop aside...this is for the base. Take another scallop and fold in half.

3. Fold in half again.

4. Then in half once more.

5. Repeat steps 2, 3 and 4 with the other 7 scallops. Remember to fold each scallop so that the "flaps" are going in the same direction.

6. Start to glue the pieces down on the base.

7. Finish gluing all the scallops pieces down. (The "flappy petals" should all open up the same way...if not, then take it off and refold).

8. Pick out something to use for a center...I have a pom pom for this flower. Put glue (I use Tacky) in the center, then place the pom pom in the glue and let dry.

Here is the finished flower and 2 other ones that I made. With the other two, I used patterned paper and buttons for centers).

I hope you were able to follow my directions. It is pretty simple to make. If you decide to try it, let me know how you make out. Thanks. Good luck.

CardzTV Blog Hop "Good Times"

We are having a blog hop this week at CardzTV. It's called "Good Times". This is one of Mary's newest stamp sets.
If you came from Elaine's blog, then you are in the right place. However, if you just happen to come across my blog and would like to hop along, please start with Mary at CardzTV

Here is my project:

Finished Project: Approximately 4" x 3" x 2 1/4"

Materials:
Cardstock: Brown, 3 Shades of Pink, Wine and Patterned Paper
Cricut Projects Sweet Tooth Boxes, Cake Box, Buttons 1, 11, 21 and 31
Cricut Projects Flower Shoppe (Flower Center) Button 4
CardzTV with Mary Clear Stamps Good Times, "Have your CAKE and eat it too!"
Scallop Punch
Sizzix Tag, Crescent Combo Largest Tag
Black Pigment Ink

The flower on top is made with a base scallop, then 8 other scallops. Fold each scallop in half then fold in half again and then a third time.  Glue on top of the base. The flower center is just twisted and glued on top. I kept it pretty simple to keep it looking "real"...lol. For this size box, I made a mini cake. I hope you like my project.

This is the new stamp set:

Doesn't it have some GREAT sentiments?

Mary is giving away some blog candy, so make sure you check it out. (click here).

Your next stop is Sharon (click here). In case you get lost a long the way, here is the line-up for the hop:
13. Dana http://iwycd.blogspot.com YOU ARE HERE

Enjoy the rest of the hop. Please leave a comment and let me know what you think of my project.

Thanks for stopping by.

Happy St Patrick's Day!

Just wanted to wish everyone a 'Happy St Patrick's Day!"I started to make this card for a challenge a couple weeks ago but never finished it in time, so I I decided to share it with you now....

Finished Card: 4 1/4" x 5 1/2"

Materials:
Cardstock: White, Green and Patterned
Cricuit Cartridge Paper Doll Dress Up Leprechaun, page 40 (Accessories 3 Shift)
CardzTV with Mary Clear Stamps Happy Days, "Happy St. Patrick's Day!"
Cuttlebug Embossing Folder Lucky Shamrocks
Queen and Co Pearls Grass Green 3 Medium
Green Marker
Black Pigment Ink
Mounting Tape

The shamrock is single mounted. I really like the embossing in the background. I hope you like it.

We are having our traditional St Patrick's Day dinner tonight...corned beef, cabbage and potatoes...yum. And after dinner we will have an Irish Coffee. I made truffles for dessert.

The ones with the squiggle lines are milk chocolate and the ones with the shamrocks are dark chocolate. (They are actually made with chopped Oreo mint cookies and cream cheese that are rolled into a ball and dipped in chocolate). I am also going to make some peanut butter cookies with a Claddagh imprint. Hope they turn out.

Better get going...oh, and I am going to enter this into a challenge...Cupcake Inspirations. This is the inspiration:

Thanks for stopping by...Happy St Patrick's Day! May you always be blessed!

CardzTV Stamps Challenge # 26 "It's So You!"

Another great challenge here at CardzTV Stamps. It's called "It's So You!" Make a project with YOUR favorite colors. Now you would think that would be easy, huh? Well, it really wasn't that easy for me...let me explain. My granddaughter (age 3 1/2) and I have this conversation all the time..."What's your favorite color, Mom Mom? I like Pink!" And I always answer, "I don't have one sweetheart. I like red, green, yellow, blue...all the colors."

So with that in mind, here is my card:

Finished Card: 4 1/4" x 5 1/2"

Materials:
Cardstock: Red, Yellow, Black, Green, White and Patterned Paper
Cricut Cartridge Mickey and Friends Pluto 2, (Base, Shift, Layers: Face/White Shift, Layers: Outfit/Tongue Base and Shift and Layers: Shoes/Ribbon/Hat Shift)
CardzTV with Mary Clear Stamps Barks and Bones, "Happy Tails to You!"
Black Pigment Ink
Mounting Tape

I think I covered almost all the colors, huh? Pluto is one of my favorites Disney characters. (Gianna likes Minnie Mouse). How about you? I kept this pretty simple, but I think it works.

Now don't forget to join the challenge. Mary is giving away one of her stamp sets to the winner. Isn't that so nice? Challenge ends in two weeks. Good luck.

Thanks for stopping by.
